Did anyone expect differently? Pop even said himself that Ayres and Splitter are the same type of player.

The Grizzlies are a bad team. I would be disappointed if we lose to these guys.

Stop blaming this all on Pop..

This is really just boylen's work tbh..A lot of people underestimate the importance and influence of assistant coaches in the team tbh.

Pop saying that Ayres and Splitter are the same type of player is amazing since it took Pop how many seasons to start making use of Splitter?

Some day ST posters may figure out that Pop focuses on guard play (except for Timmy) and not on the big men. He clearly doesn't like Baynes, but then he didn't seem to like Splitter for at least two seasons, soooo - how come folks are surprised?

Remember that Pop brought us Rasho Nesterovich, etc. etc. It is not his strong suit, in other words.

Rasho (when healthy) actually played fairly well given his ability, was a pretty good defender and was a component of the 05 championship. So, Pop did alright with Rasho in my book.

My favorite was when in the '11 playoffs against Memphis. A 800 year old McDyess, a very hobbled Duncan, and Useless Bonner were getting skullfucked by the Fat Towers. Meanwhile, Splitter sat on the bench, rotting away because Pop was too fucking stupid to play him. He's a great coach but holy shit, does he make some full retard mistakes sometimes. Ayres is definitely one of them.

Ayres and Splitter are the same type of player. "

as in im the same type of player as Tony Parker, with tony parker being infinitely better than me.

Last time we missed a big Ayres started but i remember Baynes getting significantly more court time than the starter.

Rasho (when healthy) actually played fairly well given his ability, was a pretty good defender and was a component of the 05 championship. So, Pop did alright with Rasho in my book.

While I felt Rasho was a great defensive big man, he was offensively limited and bogged down the system. It should be noted that he didn't play much of a role in that 2005 run; the Spurs traded Malik Rose for Nazr Mohammad late in the season, and Nazr gobbled up most of Rasho's minutes. Nesterovic only played more than 10 minutes in 6 games during those playoffs, and did not play at all in the last three games of the Detroit series (arguably the series he was best suited for).

Malik Rose was a bigger component of the 2005 championship than Nesterovic was.

Randolph and Conley are both solid #3 options and Marc Gasol a great #2 guy, but the rest of their rotation is hideous:lol..Koufous is a decent backup C, too..

That White backup PG, Tony Allen, Prince and Leuer should not be key players on a good team..

Randolph and Conley are both solid #3 options and Marc Gasol a great #2 guy, but the rest of their rotation is hideous:lol..

Role players need a niche and this team has nothingm not a mecca for defense as it once was.

Is a clear path foul like the "offside" in soccer(futbol)?

Clear Path to the Basket: If a fast break starts in a team’s backcourt and a defender fouls any offensive player when the team is going to score an easy basket, a clear path foul has occurred. When the foul happens, no defender can be ahead of the ball where he could defend against the easy basket.

Most importantly, offside penalizes the ball handler, in this case is the other way around.
