from day 1 never scared of anyone till......hero mode or 4 down in favor over duncan first choice on offense...

that was the downfall of the spurs...

people and td fans can live/die watchin duncan go for whatever individual stats he wants, but that cant be said for that turd pg cause nobody loves to watch his game of 4down for nothing...

even if the spurs come out of the west again this season it'd only mean the rest of the conference are weak rather than that the spurs are really that good imho. OKC castrated themselves by shipping beard nigga away and they're now even more crippled by Westchuck's injury. Lockets are paper tigher and will get torched by any playoff team immediately in the first round. Mavs and Clippers will be the biggest challengers against the spurs in the west but I'd still have to give spurs the edge. Mavs are still searching for a real center and even if they get one, it'll remain unknown if he will mesh up so well like the 11' TC. Same goes for Monkeyball imho, they also need time to fix the new pieces (sasha and hedo) into their monkeyball system, and they're also rather thin in the paint imho

Doesn't matter what seed the spurs are. They will lose to the first healthy team from OK City, Portland, Indiana or Miami (and even Houston will give them trouble but that could go either way) that they face in the playoffs. Spurs don't measure up to those teams this year.

That is what happens when the front office takes the conservative route and comes back with the same team with only minor changes, other teams get better and the Spurs stand pat.

Not really. They'd be an 8 seed in the lEastern meaning there are 7-8 teams in that conference alone which will have worse records if they don't ship MVPau and pegleg returns this season. Lakers will be lucky to get a top 10 pick imho

I want Chuckbrook to come back as soon as possible. Let him push his knee any further and see how it works out. Then him and Derrick Rose can hang out on the weekends.

As for Houston, I'm not worried about Dwight Howard.

Who I am worried about is Paul Bunyan.

Rogue

it seems to me that warriors have all the talents & resources to make a great team but they just don't seem to have a competent coach capable of doing so. Warriors have established themselves as a playoff team after being a playoff-lottery escalator for so many years prior, which's a big improvement, but that's also about the best Mark Jackson can do with this team. They need a great coach in order for this team to go further up imho.

Iggy would be a solid 3rd option for a championship contender I think. They just don't seem to know how to use Curry properly and optimize his impact. Just like DMC pointed it out, Curry wins them games and also loses them games because the team is mostly dependent on Curry, and PG-led teams at their finest are just fake contenders (according to DoK). Your PG can be your primary scorer and your engine in offense, like Heroball to them spurs, but you can't count on him to do everything for you imho.

This could be true, but that then means that the league is weak since so much of the talent is stacked in the West but not in SA.

No one would consider anyone on the Spurs as a top 10 player in the league (except upstairs tbh). Why then are the Spurs expected to beat stacked teams? The "system" excuse is bullshit. It's because they play most of the game the way it should be played and don't take many possessions off. You watch these other teams, it seems like they don't have any plans when they cross the halfcourt. It's like the PG just makes it up as he goes, and the rest of the team just hovers around and tries to stay out of the way. The Spurs don't do that as often, which is why they end up winning games.

You can take the best PGs in the league and watch how they run the game... it's either their show or they just defer without a plan and hope some uber-talented player makes a play.

It's hard to fathom that Boris Diaw, Patty Mills, Jeff Ayres, Marco Bellineli and Matt Bonner can play a more complete game than the Warrior's starting 5.

Seeds could fall like this:

1. Spurs
2. OKC
3. GS
4. Houston
5. Portland
6. Clippers
7. Dallas
8. Suns

Spurs and Suns again
Dirk vs Durant
Chris Fall vs. Steph Curry, Lee vs Griffin would put up 40 a game on each other :lol
Adridge & Lillard vs Howard and Beard. I'd probably take Portland in that setup.

Lettin' them weak shits beat ya in Texas. They haven't got a backbone in the entire organization, El. They took you to the rocks and left ya's where they found ya's. I'd be ashamed.

We coasting, chicken... we only need to beat the weaklings to be #1... Blazers will slip per the usual, losing to the likes of Sacramento and Philly... nothing to worry about

& the further you move away from it ('07) the better my chances are to hang on to 5-4.

You'd forgotten how to finish it last June.

Unless Durant or Westbrook get hit with a major injury and miss the playoffs, OKC gets nuked or some other bullshit the spurs won't reach the Finals again, so seeding is irrelevant.

Spurs always got their shit pushed in since 2007, the only reason they reached the finals last season was because of the anomaly that was Westbrook's injury. It's pointless to be so worried about seeding if OKC's core is healthy come playoff time.

What absolute shit. We still would've beaten okc even if westbrook was healthy. If harden was still on okc last year then yea, we wouldn't survive. As long as Harden doesn't have a thunder jersey on, the spurs can beat them.

i will have to a drop tbomb here

spurs are 3-0 without enrique
spurs win games when enrique doesnt hero and has 10 assists for the game

now when its vice versa by enriques own actions, you get losses

i will have to vent in this thread since i cbf lookin up for others to bump

kawhi has gotten my attention that he hasnt improved at all this year, a player only improves when u see a significant "incremental increase: across the board

someone posted his avgs since rookie season and all 3 years has been the same each year, so tell me wheres the jump in his stats?

he does alot of things on t he court that doesnt appear on the stat sheet, but alot of clowns love advance stats and statsheets, they dont give 2 shits what isnt intangible thats not on the statsheet recorded...

have a stud who can be all round player, but force to be spot up shooter defensive stopper = what a fkn load of horseshit...nobody is stopping this clown from developing besides enrique and that clown coach...fck it,

contract year for kawhi and they are downplaying his role so they can low ball him just as expected...

thsi year they say his been hesitant shooting when he has the ball, there is only a few possible reason:
- enrique gives him a last second pass for a stupid bailout shot that effects his efficiency
- doesnt want enrique to get the assist if he makes the shot
- doesnt want to miss a shot and gets yanked off the court, but pop has no problem giving mills or mario the green light to chuck and doesnt go raw anal into them (why the double standards??)
- opting for the high % shot inside,

kawhi has shown he can beat his man 1on1 on a fast break and off the dribble to get his anytime he wants into the low post, most of his production come from outside the system and his own doing on the court,

so tell me the fkn system wankers, doesnt do shit for role players who can actually do more then being given the role that been force to accept....kawhi is just to good for this shit, why they forcing him to be a spot up shooter

hey guys

im not clearly sold on mario though....his what we wanted from brent barry when he was here, a very good accuracy shooter who doesnt hesitate to shoot when his open, 2 metres behind the line or have a hand or defense closing down on him to shoot the ball, brent was very hesitant to shoot when he was closed down, even for a guy who was deadly accurate with the ball 2 metres behind the line with no defense he still wouldnt shoot....

but he gives up just as many on the other end hahahaha
