I didn't tear up at all after 6 tbh. It was after 7, and not because I was necessarily sad they lost. Eyes got watery because it finally hit me that the big 3 era was nearing its end.

Most recently on a similar note, Wade's performance in game 4 against y'all when most thought he didn't have a performance like that left in him. :cry

fucking 6. You're fucking lying if you say you're a Spurs fan and didn't tear up after that shit. Championships are so rare. To have the greatest one ever in your hands, ready to raise over your head and just hand the shit over to the other team is pure fucking agony.

We don't have much to joyfully cry over but that game 6 vs the Spurs in the WCF was something else. Sucks we couldn't cap it with a ring over those assholes from Miami.

I didn't tear up at all. What I did feel was disgust at just how accurate my takes are. I would love to be wrong sometimes, but the powers that be torture me with this need to prophesy and I am not dishonest enough to lie about it. That has been the bane of my existence tbh... so yeah... I felt it too, but for a different reason.

in 11' June when the goddamn buzzer was whistled in game 6 of the NBA finals... when our god Dirk lifted that golden trophy named after Larry O'Brien... I literally was moved to tears watching that :cry Actually I've been a mav fan since umm, 06 or 07 because of Leigh who was a die-hard mav fan, and I was so lucky that I only waited 4 years something to witness our team winning da NBA championship, and I can totally and vicariously understand how depressed most mavs fans felt through the dark era of the 2000s (with 06 being the pinnacle)

And I only waited about one year (since my obsession with Goddess began) to see our beloved goddess receiving her first ever Oscar nomination :cry

i was pretty sad when Magic retired because he is still an all time favorite and I figured he would soon die. Fortunately he's been able to bless us with his mastery of English and his gay brontosaurus son.

I was upset when Spurs lost in 2012 because of shady officiating, but the loss of game 6 stuck with me much longer. I was choked up but didn't cry, not because I'm cool, but because I was coming off a surgery and was pretty high on painkillers, so I was comfortably numb until the shit really sunk in.

Gotta be honest, it was 6 but not when we lost

I really started tearing up with the 28 seconds left because I really thought we had it locked. I normally don't get ahead of myself, but I really didn't see us losing that one. I remember I couldn't move and I was just staring at the TV with my hands on my head with my eyes tearing up. Tbh didn't really react to when they blew it, it was kind of surreal and Im the type to get more emotional about good things than bad.

Still, can't watch video of game 6 or 7 of that series without getting really mad/sad. It really is the biggest meltdown in basketball and possibly sports history

Don't cry or choke up about sports anymore, tbh... likely a combo of getting older and the fact that our team isn't the favorite going in anymore...

Probably the closest was the 2005 Finals... Tough as nail series, and while the road looked clear after the Horry heroics in Detroit, dropping game 6 at home was a big blow, and that game 7 was just a complete nail-biter...

IMHO, the 2005 Finals was the greatest Finals ever. Two great TEAMS at the absolute peak of their power slugging it out for 7 games. I was emotionally drained after that series. Tears of joy! :toast

Don't think you all wanna see it again...but yeah...for me that Ray Allen 3. Cried a little for the guys that night because I knew we wouldn't be able to recover and win game 7.

DMC
01-10-2014, 01:10 AM
When Ray Allen hit that 3 in game 6, I was so upset--more so because of how we let ourselves get in that position--that I literally didn't have any reaction at all. I just stared at the TV in hopelessness. I knew there was no coming back from that and that we were going to lose in OT and then in game 7.

Then after game 7, when they're interviewing Green in the locker room and he's getting really emotional talking about how he let down Manu and the guys. And then when Manu is at the podium and you can hear the Championship celebration going on in the background and you know Manu hears it too. That really hit me because it reminded me just how much those guys care. Didn't cry in either situation--but was just very sad and depressed.

I hear you bro. I bet Manu was sad when he learned 10K people were laid off in Detroit, or that my area softball team didn't fare so well. I just missed the money in a fishing tournament a few weeks back and I bet Manu was inconsolable. The money doesn't help... it's all about the win.

I teared up or nearly teared up after huge games we won! Game 6 I sat there and said they fucking blew it and cursed for a little bit and then cursed some more. Losses do not make me cry they make me sit there and think WTF just happened? .4 and Dirk foul I sat there as well and just thought what happened and how the hell did it happen? I did not nearly tear up, I was mad as hell and just in disbelief because they had it and lost it, that night I knew the series was over.

MY FAVE ONE easily, then followed by 05 game 7 over Detroit. Those two finals my faves and always will be! D ROB going out on top made me sit there and just bow down in front of the TV and say we DID IT! WE GOT IT! That year I wanted it the most as a fan for many reasons.
