Like seriously. If you are going to draft a dude cause he is a 'freak' and plays like a 'freak' then don't expect more than 5 years out of him.

The guys who will last 10+ years are guys like Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, James Harden, Dirk Nowitzki types. Teams trying to build around monkeyball types will always lose cause they are prone to a bad contract extension for a player who is completely injured. These dudes are cocky and immature when they are super athletic, don't work on a jumpshot or real IQ skills, and by the time they wise up, they are past their primes at like age 24-27.

Carmelo is selfish no doubt. But he ain't a monkeyballer. That's why at 29, he's still producing. Then you have Blake who is monkey balling. Clippers GM somehow thinks Blake is 'younger' with more upside and more longevity. That's straight stupid. Carmelo has more productive years left in this league than Blake. This is why you draft real players who can play and not guys who can hop step, jump, and run.

monkeyball already taking its toll in his back imho and he's no longer that 09 DH imho. he's already past his prime when he's only 28, which's sad and pathetic tbh, nothing new to houston though (t-mac and 7'6 shitbag both broke down about that age, if I remember correct)
