Monta Ellis clearly grabs Austin Rivers grabs while he's trying to shoot a 3 and this ref clearly watched it and just walks away. What a joke. :lol

You are not alone. I always thought they were a duo that were on the same floor like the Morris twins. Then I find out it was 1 guy and my mind was blown.

only pussies and assholes complain about officiating

and it ain't no one else's fault to give dipshit Rivers significant playing time, tbh.

Its the second time recently you're average Mavs hacked someone blatantly and gotten away with it.

It was 50/50 on if Ellis committed a foul. Ellis had his arm sticking out and Austin Rivers went up on Ellis' arm when he shot that 3 pointer. It just seemed like a no call. I mean how can Ellis be responsible for a foul when he is just sticking his arm out and a shooter hits Ellis' arm?

Well, it was a foul from Marion on Love on that last play against Minny, I have no problems to admit that. But in the same game, especially in the second half, the Wolves got some insane home-cooking. It was flat out disgusting. Like that phantom call on Dirk where the refs said he fouled Love although he didn't even touch him (in the 3rd iirc) , many missed calls on Ellis etc... There were more than enough scences which made up for that last play. And additionally, with the FT-advantage they had (23-14) they had no room to complain.

Rip-thru move. It's either 2 shots or no call at all.

After seeing the vid it seems a lot more people are involved in a team's tanking than I originally thought. You know it's a foul when a player (Monta Ellis) has a "I done fucked up" look on his face. Monty Williams not only doesn't protest the call, he doesn't even look fazed by it.

NBA apologizes for it. :violin

NEW YORK (AP) -- The NBA says an officiating mistake at the end of this weekend's game between Dallas and New Orleans cost the Pelicans a chance to tie it.

This was the second time in two weeks the NBA acknowledged a missed call near the end of a close game won by the Mavericks.

President of Basketball Operations Rod Thorn said Sunday that a foul should've been called on Monta Ellis of the Mavericks as Austin Rivers tried a 3-point shot at the last second.

Rivers was tied up by Ellis and the shot got nowhere close to the basket Saturday night. The Mavericks won at home 110-107.

Thorn says a review of postgame video shows Ellis made contact with Austin's arms. The NBA says Austin should have been given three free throws with sixth-tenths of a second left.

Pelicans coach Monty Williams argued for a foul as the officials left the court. He later said it was ''embarrassing'' that there was no call.

On Dec. 31, the NBA said it missed a call in the closing seconds of a game between the Mavericks and Minnesota. A day after Dallas won on the road 100-98, the league said Timberwolves star Kevin Love was fouled by Shawn Marion and should have gotten two free throws.

One of the most egregious no-calls I've ever seen.

And Monty Williams' reaction was pathetic.

I love how the league just goes, "my bad", agreed all is said and done. Such bs!

Obviously a missed call, but it's worth pointing out that the ref's view of the hack was 100% blocked by Ellis's body. You can see it at the 46 second mark of the YouTube video, or any other time they show Rivers trying to shoot. Not sure what Brothers could have done, other than install X-Ray vision.

Why does the NBA apologize for blown or missed calls? What's the point of it? There won't be a do over so why pretend like you give a shit and offer up a fake ass apology?

Yeah that was a pretty blatant pushoff by Rivers before Ellis got him on the arm.

And Monty was certainly happy with the result. If your final play is to let Austin Rivers dribble aimlessly before desperately trying to heave a shot then you're clearly trying to lose :lol

Glad there were others like me :lol I was always amazed at how the two brothers called the exact same foul at the exact same moment every single time.

The league would be shooting itself in the foot to have officiating that favors one team or another. The balance there would be too difficult to pull off. I agree it was a blatant foul, probably intentional, but it wasn't called for whatever reason. There are plenty of times during a game however where a ref can call or not call a foul and alter the game. The last play of the game is too visible to everyone so I've seen them swallow their whistles and maybe they tell themselves they aren't going to blow that whistle for anything, hoping someone else does. Just as Danny Green chokes on last second shots, refs can do the same on last second calls.
