Jon Barry is clearing things out of his Denver-area home this week, but the move is not necessarily permanent.
The free-agent shooting guard said he spoke briefly with Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe on Tuesday, and a return to Denver remains a possibility.
Barry, who averaged 6.2 points and 2.6 assists last season, said he also is drawing interest from the Minnesota Timberwolves.
"They seem to have interest and I don't really know why," he said.
Barry drew the wrath of Timberwolves fans in the spring when he said the Target Center was one of the quieter arenas he had seen for a playoff series.
It remains too early to tell whether he will get a chance to win over Minnesota fans as a member of the Timberwolves.
"I'm not really sweating it out yet," he said.
Meanwhile, Vandeweghe continues to remain patient as he tries to fill out Denver's roster four weeks before the start of training camp.
A trade involving forward Nikoloz Tskitishvili remains a possibility and swingmen Michael Curry and Dion Glover are candidates on the free-agent market.
Curry visited Denver two weeks ago and Glover has worked out at the Pepsi Center with friend and Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin.
Former Nuggets swingman Rodney White might have hurt his chances of re-signing with Denver after being arrested in Washington last weekend.
White and two friends were apprehended after a Secret Service agent said he saw them firing a gun from a car. The men face a felony charge of carrying a pistol without a license.
Vandeweghe has talked with White's agent but declined comment on the matter.
