On post-ups. At 35 years old and 16 years under his belt

Dirk Nowitzki is a living legend. :toast

& Ellis is the perfect foil for Dirk. If he's grown up, if he's put aside childish thing, if he's a man instead of a boy come playoff time he will have to be reckoned with.

If not? He's still shinin' shoes.

For what he is, Ellis is pretty solid. He's probably the most talented winger on the Mavs since Mike Finley. Their issue is still the center position.

Blake doesn't have the faceup jumper just yet, he's underrated in the post though

But, Ellis must impact come April. Maybe he's learned his lessons. Marion did. It's on Ellis. Sure, a center like Chandler would be fine, but, that is not going to happen. But, without Ellis, the promise of Ellis you'd be DOA.

dirk a low-post scorer? for me, Dirk has been pretty much used in the wrong way since RC took charge of this team. No criticism to him, he's a great coach who deserved credit for leading us to our first ever NBA championship, but I think Dirk poses the biggest threat when he's at the perimeter. Dirk has lost quite some speed/athleticism so you can no longer use him the 11' way imho. If I were RC I'd use Dirk as a hub in offense, but no more as our primary scorer. Dirk on the perimeter will draw the opposing bigs to the high post, which would leave a lot of space behind them for our slashers to exploit imho.

Worked out fine for Dirk for the past 13 years.

How has it been since '77?
