Current value: $660 million
Revenue: $167 million
Operating profit: $39 million

The Spurs have the highest winning percentage in major pro sports since 1997 and four championships to go with it. The 2013 playoff run and a payroll below the luxury tax helped boost operating profits to a record $39 million. Profits could have been even greater, but the Spurs swept two of their playoff foes, which limited the number of home games. Ratings for Spurs games on Fox Sports Southwest were down 37% to 6.4, but were still the third highest in the NBA.

What's amusing is how everyone disses the Knicks' efforts in the games but their operating income is almost 100m, about 2.5x that of SA. Winning is only important to small market teams.

NY is perfect for making money. Big City.

And a team that looks absolutely amazing and exciting on paper. You would buy tickets every game just to wait for them to click together like a hollywood movie.
