“All the good stuff fades away and you remember the stuff that passed you by,” Popovich said. “That’s the way we think, sad as it is.”

He's on the money. This quote may be obvious to some, but it came right from the man's heart.

Damn.

Hey Pop stop being an overdramatic fool. Utilize Leonard more, Play Green more and you still have a championship team..

Pop is smart - he knows
(a) the team has elder statesman and have to be rested as much as possible before playoffs
(b) the target is make playoffs - not win every game
(c) no reason to tell likely opponents our strategy to play them in playoffs in advance in current games; keep that up sleeve but watch and observe the opponents; stay cool
(d) try new defences now even if results in loss - the current zone approach allows the guards to guard opponent's strong side knowing that if he passes he runs into Duncan etc - it doesn't always work out
(e) get into the habit of resting bigs

And for some reason all I can think of is him benching Nazr for the entire playoffs for shooting a 3 pointer. He wouldn't have been helpful against the Mavs at all in 2006.
