Food stamps from the league, fake tough players, entitled meth-head fans, and the fake squeaky-clean image of Durantufactured promoted by Media despite how he's a ref-reliant crybaby beta, tbh.... it's also annoying how other players get called out for their flops but Durbeta gets a pass for his cheap-ass rip-through move....

I think they're extremely talented... which makes it just ridiculous to see the amount of help they get.

Durant is an absolute beast, but halfway through the season he has over 120 FTA more than Lebron? Over 100 more FTM than the next guy (Harden)? Ridiculous.

And it's not just dominos, their defense reminds me a lot of the '08 Celtics. Moving screens galore (probably something Perk brought with him). They get away with a lot of crap, especially at home.

As a result, their games are borderline unwatchable (unless you're a OKC fan, I guess). There's little mystery on a close game when you know the rip-through will rear it's ugly head.

tbh, it's not even because they're good (and they are), because Indiana, the Heat, they all have more or less unlikeable players, but neither of those teams get the amount of help OKC does.

Oh, and Sonicsgate made them extremely unlikeable even before Durflop became the league's golden boy, chief foodstamp recipient and manufactured superstar :lol

agree with this and other points on Sonicsgate, having a team with Chimpbrook, Fisher and Perkins on the same team. They are easily the most annoying team that I recall, but it's ultimately the entitlement and food stamps that piss off fans. I felt the same way about Kobe during their championship runs, yeah he was a piece of shit but the worst was the coddling by refs. Some players, for whatever reason, you can't lay a finger on. This and excessive FTs ruin the flow and energy of the game.

Also, how does Perkins and his Xenomoroph grill not get T'd up more for always staring down the refs.

Nailed it.

I had league pass a couple years back and chose the Thunder as one of my 5 teams. Huge waste of money.

It's the same playbook... take a guy that's clearly talented, and try to manufacture a superstar. Durant is riding it in style though, it's not really his fault.

That said, he's is probably the only guy I can remember that forced the league to change the rules because that cheap rip-through move is so egregious and getting widespread. But without relaxing hand-checking rules you really can't stop it.

I really don't think they go far in the playoffs.

They beat the Spurs in 2012 when we choked. Then they choked against Memphis last year (even with Westbrook out, how did they lose that series?). I think OKC chokes a lot when it matters.

They easily have the most unlikable group of players (Westbrook, Ibaka, Perkins, Fisher, Reggie Jackson) and Durant's free throw gifts are unbearable. That being said, they're a great team. Unless the Spurs get their shit together, I see OKC making the Finals.

This or unless the Grizzlies make the finals and Westbrook can't get back in time.

Their quick ascendency to being a top team is annoying, but that criteria shit applies to all teams (like GS for example). They're talented as fuck and they receive a favorable whistle on 99 out of 100 nights. They also have the most hideous looking creatures donning that uniform.

It's not a schtick, Durbeta literally does get a ridiculous amount of foodstamps from the league.... meanwhile, Miami set the record for least FTA in a 7-game series and still won the Finals last year :lol

Why does every team on the rise to elite or championship status get bombarded with the "you get too many free throw attempts" schtick?

Because only pussies & assholes blame the officiating.

you are probably rooting for Thunder though, anything to stop Lebron from annihilating Rapist's memory, plus Lebron never received the same ref coddling. Shit Lebron still hasn't played alongside a top 10 player in their prime or had as loaded a roster. smdh. It's okay, your coņo will recover, maybe not until Dr. Buss comes back from his hiatus, but in time you will recover.

I don't think it's so much the style of play, the Durant free throws, or getting away with illegal picks and such. Although those things just add to it. But there have been teams and players who played similarly or got similar favoritism and were still liked to a much greater degree than OKC.

IMO, it's the fact that none of the OKC players are guys anyone pull for, and maybe even relate to. Durant might be a nice guy. I don't think he's a jerk or anything. But he has zero personality or charisma. You might not hate him individually, but there's nothing in his public personality that allows you to like him. He's the guy at the office no one really talks to and no one knows anything about. He's the guy you forget to invite for drinks after work. Not that you wouldn't, but you either forget to ask him or don't care to ask him. The next biggest star on the team is a queer eye fashionista who literally looks like a frog and someone you want to punch in the throat when he walks out to the post game questions. Perkins is also completely unlikable and constantly has a "taking a dump" look on his face. Thabo and Serge might speak English... not sure but you don't know what kind of personalities they have. Nick Collison might be the most likable guy on the team and he's like the goofy old guy at the university gym who's kinda good for his age but never talks to anyone and you find out later he's a philosophy professor. If you're not an OKC fan, who do you pull for on that team? Who do you relate to? No one. So you add all those other annoying things like Durant's free throws or illegal picks, and that's all you focus on. There's nothing redeeming about the players themselves that lets you look past those things.

You might hate LeBron, but he has enough personality that some percentage of NBA fans like him. Same with even Dwight Howard. Same with Blake Griffin. At least they have personality, charisma. When it comes to personality and/or charisma, Durant is like cardboard.
