*Getting up and changing the channel for the old man.

*Taking a note from my mother to the store so I could buy her cigarettes/Lark.

*Collecting empty pop bottles and getting money for them, though the guy at the beverage store would just about take a fit when I'd come in with a wagon full, get my money, then go next door to the candy store.

Before my time but I do enjoy a lot of the music from the 60's and the historical importance of the decade and how it shaped the way forward to today's world. Also, Rod Serling and his Twilight Show is one of my favorite things to catch on Thanksgiving Day and NYE when its commercial time for football.

Niagara Falls for the first time.

The structural change in the country after Kennedy was killed.

Toy guns in stores. It was a glorious time. And my dad was keen for this stuff so he'd buy it hand over fist for Xmas and then watch my brother & I with a satisfaction I finally realized (years later) it's origins and design. There was no orange highlights all over the fucking things (like you see now), or, even pot metal. This stuff was real steel. And the rifles were real wood and steel. They had a machine gun on a tripod one Fall. It was just something else again. & it worked. It was quality and ran on 8 (D-Cell) batteries. I God's. It's all I wanted, but, they were out everywhere so I didn't find it under the tree that Christmas and I remember I held a grudge on that one for years. Finally about age 45 I forgave mom & dad and moved on. They had one rifle where you cocked it and it had a lot of force coming out the barrel with a loud bang for effect. So I'd dig up some dirt (good dirt in Ohio) and stuff the barrel then cock it and shoot it. It would blast that dirt a good 20 feet with force.

Flower Power

Flower power was over rated by TV. Never saw any of that living as a kid and I lived every second of the 1960s. I guess some of that went on at college and rock concerts but it was over rated as its frequency.

So many records made in the 1960s that you have never heard. Many more record labels putting out music then you find today. Lots of good obscurities that only had some local airplay or no airplay at all.
