He is a Navajo and get his name from his grandfather.
Chief Kickingstallionsims Kicks Ass

I know, I thought it was Kickingstallionisms. As in Kickingstallion’s bathroom book of witty sayings. But it’s “sims” not “isms.” Chief Kickingstallionsims scored 16 points to help Alabama State win against Alcorn State last night. Besides a crazy last name this guy is 7 foot 1 and 255 pounds. Yes, he’s Navajo and yes his first name is actually Grlenntya which means “strength of falling rock.” Falling rock is not a name you want to associate with basketball so he went with his middle name, the name his grandfather gave him, Chief.

Sports Illustrated calls him “the best name in college sports.” Other best names in sports include: Coco Crisp, Milton Bradley, D’Brickashaw Ferguson, Longar, Longar, Dick Pole, Go Soeda, Evan Longoria, Rollie Fingers, and World B. Free.
