It was a flukey performance, tbh. His numbers were garbage before the 4th quarter and overtime. Tim Duncan is an A and you think Mills deserves the same grade? Lol

Before the 4th, Patty played about 3-4 minutes and had 5 points. In comparison, Cojo's averaged 6 points in 22 minutes over the last 10 games.
In my opinion, both TD and Patty deserved an A+ for their performances tonight.

On how many shots? tbh? He was like 2-7 before the 4th iirc. He's a SG chucker stuck in a PGs body. And Cojo provides defense, solid assist, and actually takes efficient shots and doesn't try to play above his abilities. Both are mediocre players but people hating CoJo and overrating Mills is ridiculous and idiotic.

Not sure what you mean by 'play above his abilities'. Mills has always been a scorer. If the shots are there, he'll take them; that's Patty's mentality.
On the other hand, we have Cojo, who's the guard version of Kendrick Perkins on the offensive end, and likes to randomly dribble into heavy traffic without the slightest clue of what he'll do with the ball. I like his defense, but Patty's clearly the better contributor to this team at the guard spot.

Yeah, he's lucky they started going in because he was shit before that. He took a lot of bad shots tonight. And he is supposed to be a PG not a SG, and if he is a SG then he is way too short to play the position and would get burned on defense.

More made-up nonsense. Before OT, Patty was a -1. At the end of the first half, he was a +1 in 3 minutes of pt. It was Patty who hit the big three and assisted Duncan for the last 5 points of the 4th quarter to tie the ballgame. Point here is that Patty and Duncan played a huge role in our win tonight. Anyone that disagrees is either an idiot or a troll.

I said iirc, and it doesn't matter, he was hurting the team up until that point. Mills had a decent overtime by default. Doesn't take away the fact that he is a chucker and a scrub.

This is a game where individual grades aren't really applicable. It was one of those memorable rodeo road trip games where the Spurs came together as a team under adversity and won. Grade this a team A.
Anyone who didn't enjoy this game simply isn't a BB fan.

Mills is the best backup PG we've has since Brent Barry and George Hill. No reason to hate since we can't do any better than him right now. I'm glad we have a badass scoring PG for out backup. Dude can keep the pressure on.
Of course he won't shoot 50%+ every night, almost every PG doesn't over the course of any particular season. . .especially not backups.
I swear some people on here have either zero experience with the NBA and sports in general, or are just awful with numbers and common sense/realistic expectations.
Great game for Duncan too, he's really been punching Father Time in the mouth lately.

I don't hate Patty, I hate when people overrate him. He is a decent player against bad teams. You can look up the stats if you want. People were calling for CoJos head when he was having an all around decent game. When was the last time CoJo went full chucker in a game? I don't remember tbh. CoJo is an efficient player and decent on defense. Patty is below average on D and usually takes ill advised 3s with plenty of time on the shot clock.

Millsanity 5-5 at the line. For a player who has very limited history of gettin to the line. This guy continues to show vast improvements in so many elements of the game. Does it really matter if he shoots like Kirby or is unable to jump as high as Westbrick?

Mills was great once Green took over guarding Wall. He's getting better at running the offense, but he still can't dribble or defend outside of full-court pressure. Mills is very limited, and people need to accept that before truly appreciating him. He's going to have a hard time if he's matched up with Livingston tomorrow. Green's going to have his hands full with Pierce or Johnson, and Cory will have the other or Williams.

Nets have been playing small with Pierce at the 4 and Teletovic at the 3. Green will prolly get JJ while whoever starts in Parker's spot will get Teletovic.

I agree with Robdiaz here. Patty should have scored more. 30+ at least. I don't care if he was only out there 20 minutes. If Pop won't play him 40 minutes then he needs to step it into high gear and produce more. Chrissakes. I would have given him an A grade for a triple double. I'd probably give him an A+ for a quadruple double. Well maybe I would.

None of that matters in Pops system, tbh.
+1
Shannon Brown is a square peg trying to fit in a round hole, not to mention a potential locker room cancer. I'm sure that cheap shot on Ginobili is still fresh on the minds of the players and there is no way I would bring a guy onto the team for that reason alone. And I have no idea why Pop would sign this guy when he already has a glut of guards all vying for minutes as is. A small forward backup would be the ideal signing, someone in the 6'7" 6'8" range who can shoot like Jared Dudley or Matt Barnes would be absolutely perfect.

yes but then to how many decimal places? :lol
i kid, i kid. point being you can always get more specific, it doesn't really water it down. adding the +/- just gives you more than 5 options to rate a player's performance. gives you 15. of course, the more options, like a 1-100 scale, the more specific and precise, but it also makes it more difficult to be accurate since its so arbitrary

I was at the game last night and it was INTENSE. The "Go Spurs Go" chant frequently drowned out the Washington "defense" chant. My wife even commented that she had never heard me yell so much in my entire life (I responded that the Spurs had never been in a close game in DC in my entire life...). Tons of Spurs fans everywhere.
Timmy went GOAT on everyone and put the team on his back in the second half. Patty started hitting everything at the end of the 4th and into both overtimes. Splitter and Green played great D, as did CoJo. De Colo was horrible in the first half, but played much better in the second.
Great win for the Spurs - the Wizards are really making strides and are quickly becoming a legit team. I wouldn't be surprised if they're a top 3 seed in the East at the end of the season.
