what's smaller govt have to do with moribund US mfg, which has lost Ms of jobs exported to "globalization" countries, aka, free enterprise is free to screw employees.
With a bigger govt stimulus in 2009 of $2T+, US mfg and all sectors would be doing better, especially jobs.
Wind turbine industry has been creating increasingly more jobs, same for the solar industry, but Repugs blocked keeping the wind production tax credit, while BigCarbon maintains $Bs in tax expenditures, and Repug states are protecting electric utilities by killing the solar industry by reducing or killing renewable energy mandates.

"Smaller government, bring back manufacturing!" Has been the call of the right for years. Lo and behold, that's what's been happening for the last 47 months under the socialist Kenyan rule of the Moslem

Scott is right. We're still the USA. Things could be much worse, and for very many, they are.

smaller govt aka, austerity, is screwing the economy and the jobs market. Remember the MIC executives squealing like fat pigs about losing 1M jobs when sequestration was going to cut defense (govt) spending?
corporations/VRWC pushed hard for globalism policies in the 80s, 90s, so they could pit US employees and US govt regulations against Chinese unregulated sweat shops. Poof, US mfg loses 8M jobs in the 2000s. iow, NOTHING to do with Obama, by decades.
You People on the right are either lying or spewing ignorance every time you open your mouths.

so now the USA, where "things" are very bad for the majority and horrible for the bottom, is reduced to congratulating itself for not being Mexico, Uganda, India? :lol
"You've Come A Long Way (down), Baby"
... just wait, "things" are gonna get a lot worse before they get better. The 1%/corporatocracy control of America is unbreakable (except with extreme breakout by the 99%, so hold your breath)

:cry if there was no marxist minimum wage, retail stores that still operate the same way they did 1980s would be able to compete with amazon :cry
If the tea baggers think it's bad now for low skill morons, just wait until 20 years down the road when millions of no-skill or low-skill workers who thought they had a stable career processing information at a desk get laid off because technology/globalization passed them by. There's no political policy right wing or left wing that's going to stop globalization and technology.

:cry they'll only optimize if there's a high minimum wage, it's not like grocery stores have been optimizing away cashiers with self checkout lines while the minimum wage has been low or anything :cry
