I wonder what your face looked like in game 4 of 08 finals TBH! I am sure you were not very chippy and nearly in tears that night! Bottom line is we all go through a moment as fans that blows our whole year, this was the Spurs. I wish we had the thread to that game 4 too as well to post it. Kobe might have tied Jordan at 6 if they won that game!

DeadlyDynasty

That was Game 4 and the Lakers never led that series, much less having a stranglehold on the title:lol

Who cares they win that game 4 they probably go up 3-2 as they won the next game and probably win the title! Either or it's a loss in the finals for both our teams and a game that had to blow your night! Game 6 pissed me off beyond belief and I went to bed after that, over it now pretty much and you bringing it up daily will not bother me personally. You can sugar coat your game 4 all you want, but that huge blown lead at home was epic and lost the series basically.

this. I appreciate what all have done, even Enrique, but they owe more to Duncan than the other way around and all 3 let him down. That post 7 interview with Duncan was brutal, and I think that's when it hit me. I didn't give up hope after 6, even though I knew it was a longshot. Shit Spurs almost pulled off a miracle win in 7, but in the end it was the shittiest loss in terms of sports personally. James Roday from Pysch is a SA native and hardcore Spur fan and said he lost a year off his life from that series. Sounds about right. :lol

I said it's not over yet a few times, be damned if I was not right. I never thought it was over honestly! With 28 seconds left and up 5 I was thinking to myself okay what is the worst that can happen but hoping for the best, just going over what bad could happen and planning for it and it did. It if what it is, done and over with and the stars aligned on what bad could happen. Worst loss in the Spurs history IMO yet and I know years of failure before in the 90's but that was years of failure! This was the Spurs team who went to the finals and had a shot to win and lost it! The team who executes well in their title runs was not there that night, not the 03-07 teams by any means IMO. Those teams would have whiped the floor with this Heat team, this the older Spurs team and senile POP though no........

So far, outside of the OKC series in 2012, I am not impressed by these Heat. I am being neutral, I hated the 04 Pistons but their defense was the best ever, the 08 Celts were an unbelievable HOME team, the 09 Lakers were high and low but knew how to hold on and win.

This Heat team has not been tested, the NBA is so fucking pathetic this last 2 years its not really their fault. It's like a prime Mike Tyson, the moment he faced a real fighter he got his ass handed to him.

Just my Bball observations. I loved the 09 Lakers but I felt the road was really easy outside of that Denver series. That 09 Lakers team was deep though, no one was stopping them except for Bynum's knees.

This Heat team struggled badly against their ONLY 2 tests last year. They held on to dear life against the Spurs and barely beat the Pacers.

Used to be that a team like Miami with the #1 seed would play a first round against a garbage team, a 2nd round against a 'tough team', a 3rd round against a very hard team, and the finals would be damn hard. So far this team has the first two rounds in the bag due to the EC being a joke.

I feel like the time off after sweeping the Griz hurt us. If we would have had the rhythm coming from the GS series, Maybe we could have finished in 6 maybe even 5.

It sucks because I was texting Heat fans I knew, and they were sooo salty, and then LeBron's head band came off and the Heat made a run. So now all the Heat fans start responding per par. When we were up 5 with 28 seconds left, I just KNEW we were going to win. Get a stop, let em score, w/e, then make your free throws. No way we could lose. So I'm jumping up and down, so excited and then that SOB Ray Allen hits the GOAT shot of all GOAT shots, and I felt like we lost the series right there.

I still believe there should have been a foul on Chris Bosh for running into Danny Green at the end of OT, but who knows if he would have made the free throws anyway.

All in all, sickening loss.

Here you go. I did the same and predicted Memphis in 6 so I can be laughed at just as much. :lol

If the Spurs are healthy/have enough in the tank they should win in 5 or 6. Memphis is one of the worst shooting teams in the entire NBA, with a decent game plan (like the one we used against LAL) we should be able to exploit this mayor weakness. Also, after that 2011 series Tony has dominated Conley in personal matchups. Spurs have won 4 out of the last 6 against Memphis and those two Grizzlies wins have been pretty damn close and we were missing key guys.

Why am I always so fucking spot on? I make me sick. Sometimes I try to be wrong or provide shitty takes but it's so fuking hard, men.

If we didn't have an already historic NBA franchise, I probably wouldn't ever let it go, but we do. We still have 4 titles and a great damn legacy. No problems overall. Not to mention we're still a great team today, no losing records in how long? Not to mention numerous Hall of Fame players, the greatest PF of all time and a top 10 all-time NBA player, a great front office... there's not a lot of reasons to dwell on this like if we were Timberwolves fans or, let's just get this out there, Clipper fans.

It's a stand alone catastrophe. You can't cite it and then chip at it with "positives." It does not work like that. '84 is my 6. Though your disaster dwarfs mine. I rang coming back in '85. Had the miracle of finding those that had defeated us, those who had shamed us in the same spot a year later. We were able to avenge our defeat, smight those who had shamed us. But, it didn't relieve, nor eradicate 1984. '84 & '85 are two different moments in time and are not linked. The pain and shame of '84 remains deep in my soul. There is never enough vengeance. Never enough ring to fill that hole, that hatred. You don't have that pain, shame and hatred for the Heat. It was not instilled in you at defeat by Media. You were left intact and alone. Sure, "we" beat you senseless, but, [we're not] "sanctioned" as Media is. "We're" fun and a pastime. You don't have to open a "newspaper" and find your trespass splattered hither & yon month after month not knowing I'd find salvation a year later...only to realize after the smoke had cleared that salvation wasn't permanent, but, just a shadow gone.

To the grave SF.

Preach, thread. The media has been merciful and I think some of it is that aww shucks we were just lucky to be there sentiment, which is horseshit, and does a disservice to Pop and Tim.

Why am I always so fucking spot on? I make me sick. Sometimes I try to be wrong or provide shitty takes but it's so fuking hard, men.

I bealive Manu was better than Dirk both at their respective primes.

Tough one, eh. I was hoping I had ammo to fire back at my friends who were pulling for the Heat...almost had it, too. Would've been a glorious offseason...

good to see some Lakerfans haven't jumped on Lebron's dick, though it seems to be happening more and more, I guess that bandwagon gene runs strong in Laker circles. shit I like Lebron way more than Rapist, but I'm not going to overlook his flaws.

It would've been a great offseason, not that life would be perfect but it would definitely have left a nice buzz, instead Spursfan got stuck with a massive hangover.

imho, the media doesn't care for the Spurs. Lakers are like the Cowboys or Yankees, they love to hype them up and then tear them down, it's a vicious cycle but great for business. Spurs are too consistent and below the radar, so I think the media is just like "fuck, Spurs again? alright let's just give them the 'Nice try but go away' treatment". I wish media would've made a bigger deal out of the 2012 WCF, we got hosed in that last game.

if Spurs somehow make it back to the Finals, they will finally have a story, the comeback angle, which would be cool. But for the most part, the Spurs don't give the media much room to operate and therefore the media becomes dismissive.

No they're here--that's why I was hoping for the Spurs to complete the victory. There were too many so-called Heat fans in SoCal and it was getting to the point they were really obnoxious about their LeBron fandom...blechhh

I am not a Lebron fan, despite my admiration of his game. I was rooting for the Spurs as well and even trying to help them deal with the pain.
I also have teased some of the pricks on here about it ...
But would of rather seen Heat lose just to shut some cats up ...

But Bron is a beast but he does need some to jump off his "tip".
People here say Kobe and MJ stans are not objective but Lebron fans are the same.
People get soo wrapped up in athletes they like or despise it's silly.
It's really not much diffrent than the Beliebers or the Be-hive (Beyonce fans) it's like a church following tbh.

I am not a LeBron hater--he is the best in the game to date. There's nothing wrong in saying so and he's done tons to deserve the accolades and praise. I'm just tired of being part of a fanbase that jumps ship when things are tough. Oh well, I guess you can't really control what other people do. Still, it is amazing to see what Mr. James can do with a basketball.

I have the same exact sentiments when it comes to Lebron. He is the best player in the league. I definitely agree his jockers are pretty much the same as Beliebers or the Be-hive. They will do anything in their power to tear down all time greats to push their agenda and if you disagree with them you are hater. I expect the same if Durant wins this year you will have a bunch of Durant jockers come out of the woodwork.

It doesn't matter what they media says, they media didn't have to say anything. What matters is what happened on that court. The game where people actually bothered to see the spurs. And what happened on that court that night led to the masses think that winning 4 in a decade is moot. I went to the a spurs game recently. And i saw that 2013 wcf banner not complemented by a 2013 champs banner. I was staring at that more than watching the game. I want to see that team crumble. And no I don't want the pacers. I want those bastards to fall.

You take this sports thing a little too seriously. The players move on and play their game. If all the fans did was hang up on a tragedy in a game then what's the point of even watching your team anymore? You don't see Tom Brady still upset about being 18-1, he plays each year to win, not lingering on the past. You get chances each year and you move on, approaching each game and season like its own entity. It's bullshit to basically expound upon this past its expiration date. You move on and that's all. Come on, your team is the fucking Los Angeles Lakers, you guys will always find a way to work things out with such a great winning lineage. Try being a fan of the Timberwolves or Wizards, for instance, they have nothing to hang unto really aside from prime KG years and Michael Jordan's little fling with the team 14 years ago.

You need to realize these sports teams have no inkling you exist, so I would, you know, not worry about a championship game played 30 years ago that you had no stake in playing. It's all fine, dude. Life goes on, other things are important in our lives.

There is a difference between a titan sports franchise losing a close Finals series than a one-and-done franchise choking it away. That's why I'm not hung up on it, we're always going to be a relevant team because our front office does things every year, even if it's small, we have added a lot of new young pieces that could be a part of our future 10 years from now. That's what happens.

I was crushed after Game 6. I remember falling to my knees, I remember thinking it was over, no way we'd win 7, and we didn't. I was hurt for the offseason, but when the ball rose to start the 2014 season, I forgot and am focused on this year. Some of you "Spurs fans" make me sick with your disloyalty to our team. You make it sound like those guys didn't want to win, they just had their hearts ripped out and couldn't beat the momentum swing. I've been a fan of this team my whole life and we've been through harsh ups and downs, this being the worst obviously, but not like we're strangers to successes and failures.

How would you know...you weren't ridiculed and put upon over 6. That was the deal for you...the Pop Factor if you will. Media was not about to condemn him for his antics in losing that Finals. No, instead Media rallied him...for good sportsmanship when he hugged everybody after it was over. If I wasn't moving at such a terrific clip to get back in here it would have made me ill, Elm.

That was a crazy fucking day. I was devastated for sure. I wasn't even upset after we lost Game 7 because 6 was the end as far as I was concerned. Man, what a crazy Finals.

I will totally be over 6. if we win it this year, if we don't, it's still going to be something that will haunt this franchise until we win another. I'm pretty much over it, but still, what a horrific moment.

You bastard you. When you could have brought up calf tats, Naruto, Manu>Dirk, or $250 handjobs, you gotta remember this one instead. Worst part of 6 was sitting in gridlock in the AT&T Center parking lot for an hour after. Also a couple of porch monkey bitches walked up from the neighborhood (AT&T Center is in the middle of the ghetto, thank you City Council of San Antonio) and were talking all this shit about the Spurs at the door. I told them 'God bless George Zimmerman' on my way out.
