Is he day-to-day, or does he get resigned to another 10-day contract as the bare minimum to keep playing?

I wanted to see him get more minutes. He at least needs 1 breakaway dunk, or alley.

He's garbage. I had higher hopes for him, but Spurs can do much better.

Depends on Green. If Danny can go, Brown won't be re-signed at least until after the ASB. A 10-day now would be inefficient. On the other hand, if the Spurs aren't happy with Brown, they may keep him and not care about wasting his last 10-day.

He has shown nothing but, at the same time, there is basically no drawback for Spurs to re-sign him for a 10 days contract that it wouldn't surprised me if they do it.

There is so little in play that it doesn't matter what Spurs decide to do.

If they resign him or anyone else a 10-day, there's no point in doing it today. May as well wait until the day before the next game after the ASG

That's not true. Spurs have a break almost as big as that ASG break after their RRT.

If Spurs sign a player to a 10 days contract tomorrow before the Celtics game, his 10 days contract will cover 4 games.
If Spurs signs a player just before the first game after the ASG, his 10 days contract will also cover 4 games.

Resign Othyus Jeffers. He's a better defender than Joseph, and he can score and rebound (something the Spurs are missing right now without Kawhi) , and he wasn't really given much of a chance the first time. Even De Colo is taking more advantage of times like these than CoJo smh

signing him for the rest of the season and playing him 20 minutes a game in order to tank for the lottery is an option that should be on the table IMO

We should bring Malcolm Thomas back, tbh. Did he clear waivers? Don't remember hearing anything about it.

Malcolm Thomas was claimed by a team- Utah perhaps.

How about taking a chance at Manny Harris? An even younger version of Shannon Brown.

Cartier Martin, ftw. ATL just signed him to a second 10 day, so on the 21st, they'll have to shit or get off the pot.

SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have signed guard Shannon Brown to a second 10-day contract.

In his first stint with the Silver and Black Brown saw action in six games, averaging 2.2 points and 1.2 rebounds in 6.3 minutes.

The eight-year NBA veteran has also played for the Phoenix Suns (2011-13), L.A. Lakers (2009-11), Charlotte (2008-09), Chicago (2007-08) and Cleveland (2006-08). For his career Brown has appeared in 380 games, averaging 8.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.5 minutes. The Illinois native was originally drafted by the Cavaliers with 25th pick in the 2006 NBA Draft.

With Parker out tonight and Patty on a tender ankle, they need the extra guard. That said, it is probably going to be a beat down unless the Spurs are really hitting the shots.

Exactly. Brown obviously isn't going to make a blazing comeback or anything, but he is about as serviceable as any other player they are gonna get on 10-days. At least he is proven NBA talent that they can use to fill some minutes.

Brown's second 10 days contract will go past the trade deadline and if Spurs do some moves like trading away De Colo and/or Joseph, they might need another guard for the rest of the season. Without a trade, Brown's future with Spurs after that 10 day contract looks very bleak.

If Shannon Brown can provide the hustle and dunks that he did when he was with the Lakers, I say we keep him!

Pop doesn't care about dunks, and Shannon ALWAYS goes under the pick on D. Pop won't tolerate that.

He seems to be slowly getting use to the system. He just has to stop fading away when he shoots, Hit the open 3, drive and get some high percentage dunks like he did at the lakers with some good defence. He is a 2x Champion and is athletic something we could use at the end of the bench for some flare. If one of the guards get traded why not. But I have a feeling he might not be here at the end of this second 10 day.

I don't doubt the Spurs will trade their first with one or two fillers (Baynes / De Colo / etc.) for someone they think can play in the playoffs, but don't think any teams out there value that package enough to pull the trigger. That might change when everyone realizes they're overvaluing their assets, particularly their guys with expiring contracts.

There's a trade in the works for sure, God I love the Spurs FO
