View Full Version : Heat: LeBron: "I'll Be Among Top Four Greatest"

Andy

"I'm going to be one of the top four that's ever played this game, for sure. And if they don't want me to have one of those top four spots, they'd better find another spot on that mountain. Somebody's gotta get bumped, but that's not for me to decide. That's for the architects." - Lebron James

Wade is nearly done. I think he has one more run in him and he's done.

He's probably right. And still an outside shot to be the GOAT. Probably top 2-3 though.

That said, why is he such an insecure little shit who needs affirmation after affirmation from anyone? At the end of the day, his play on the court and his career accomplishments will speak for themselves. And it should be left to just that.

When it comes to praise seeking and self promotion, he's a grade A vagina.

We have to see how the story ends. It's easy to promote someone as a top 3 player when he's in his prime winning rings. We'll see what tune everyones singing when he's at the end of his career and another young gun is taking over.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he's not gonna make it as a top 3. 2 rings, 2 nba final losses, and there's a serious chance he loses more in the finals and ends with only 3-4 rings.

HarlemHeat37

Wade has put the team on his HGH emboldened knees many a time. He's basically been the anti-Manu recently, about ready to break down but always comes up huge for a few games. Too bad Manu didn't inject himself with Miami's finest and grow a beard to cover up the evidence. :depressed

Three and Bosh haven't even been top 30 players in either title run, tbh:lmao..

The Spurs completely dominated the Finals whenever Three was on the floor, his +/- was atrocious..

Lebron is one of 3 players in NBA history to win a title while leading his team in Points, Assists, Rebounds AND either steals/blocks, along with Duncan and Hakeem..he's also one of 3 players in the modern era to lead a team to a title with his 2nd option averaging 16 points or less, along with Duncan and Hakeem..

Those 3 guys are the only players to truly win a title with minimal help, tbh..

winning rings doesn't make you a better player. its not like lebron woke up the morning after game 7 and was suddenly a better basketball player. they are merely validators of greatness, which is why each successive ring matters less in a player's legacy. winning the first is the most important, and you take it from there.

If he gets 2 more rings he's in the top 5 somewhere. To pass MJ will be very difficult because MJ has so many accolades that Lebron will probably never get. Lebron will have to win DPOY, lead the league in scoring 10 times, lead the league in steals a few times, win 6 finals MVP's and 5 regular season mvps. Because it's a combination of numbers + personal accolades + rings and role players just don't stack up in the first 2 departments.

If rings are as worthless as you say, then people can make a case for Malone > Jim.

Jordan played in a very watered down league. Looking back at elite backcourt players during Jordan's days and all you can do is :lol. Lebron's two titles rival any of Jordan's titles out of sheer difficulty. Lebron has had to finish off teams like the Celtics and the Spurs.

:lol no, they can't..only a moron would need to blindly cite rings to argue Duncan > Malone..

Bill Russell is always mentioned among greats, if you value rings, there's no argument that can go against him as GOAT:lol..

You can certainly cite title runs in your argument, but blindly counting rings is a horrible tool for arguing:lol..

For example, arguing that Dad Killer's title runs in '91 and '92 were the best of all-time is a great argument in his favor, but blindly citing his 6 rings is a terrible argument..

Jordan played in a very watered down league. Looking back at elite backcourt players during Jordan's days and all you can do is :lol. Lebron's two titles rival any of Jordan's title out of sheer difficulty. Lebron has bad to finish off teams like the Celtics and the Spurs.

:lmao my god just stop

I seriously don't think anything tops Lebron's fury to single handedly get the Heat back in game 6. It's better than anything Jordan has ever done. What an individual stretch of greatness. What a fucking beast.

Yep..while I'll never forgive Pop, Manu and Parker for their role in the meltdown, it was an honour to lose to peak Lebron in game 7, tbh..there's nothing you can do when a player is playing at that level..

I admire Kevin's game as much as the next guy but this is the most retarded take I've ever come across. Your broken English doesn't help you either.

Kevin has a long way to go before he's considered a GOAT candidate. He has to win a ring first to even validate such greatness.

The only moments that top the "no headband" run in 6 are Game 5 against the Pistons in '07 and Game 6 against the Celtics in '12, tbh....

:lol The Fake Flu Game

The real truth, Grover says, is that Jordan was poisoned.

"100 percent," Grover says on TrueHoop TV. "He was poisoned for the 'flu game.' Everyone called it a flu game, but we sat there. We were in the room." Grover explains:

We were in Park City, Utah, up in a hotel. Room service stopped at like nine o'clock. He got hungry and we really couldn't find any other place to eat. So we said eh, the only thing I can find is a pizza place. So we says all right, order pizza.

We had been there for a while. Everybody knew what hotel. Park City was not many hotels back then. So everyone kind of knew where we were staying.

So we order pizza. Five guys came to deliver this pizza. I take the pizza and I tell them: "I've got a bad feeling about this. ... I've just got a bad feeling about this."

Out of everybody in the room, [MJ] was the only one who ate. Nobody else had it. And then 2 o'clock in the morning I get a call to my room. Come to the room. He's curled up in the fetal position. We're looking at him, finding the team physician at that time.

Immediately I told him it's food poisoning. Not the flu.

Back to game 6, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. No headband and all. Shit man I think I'm going to patent the "Lebron no headband" thing. It's worthy of its own label.

Durant is joining that company, tbh..
Maybe, once Lebron decides to call it quits. It would be an honor for Kevin and Lebron to go at it again. It would be a lot closer than a 5-game series this time, I think.

Actually the 90's teams were better then the current teams in todays league. You are full shit with that argument. Those 90's knick teams that MJ took out are better then Lebron's main competition in the east which is the pacers. Also the defensive rules back then made it much more of challenge to win. Your boy Durant would be crying like a bitch if we played by 90's handchecking rules today. Back then to get to the freethrow line you had to be fouled hard or else the whistle didn't blow. Also there was no 3 second defensive rule so bigs could stay in the paint forever. You are clearly not knowledgeable when you say today's back court players are better. Name me an SG or PG today who is better then Clyde Drexler,Mitch Richmond,Reggie Miller, Penny Hardway,Tim Hardaway,Gary Payton, Kevin Johnson, Steve Smith, Isiah Thomas,Hersey Hawkins, Kendall Gill,Allen Houston. I could list even more but I challenge you to give me a list that matches those guards of players that exist today. Lebron took out a Spurs and Celtics team whose stars were past their primes. Outside of Durant, Lebron has zero competition at the 3 spot. Pippen,Glen Rice, Grant Hill, Mashburn,Wilkins,Mullins are 3's from MJ's era and they are all better than Paul George and Mello. Just because you didn't exist during MJ's time period is no reason to discredit him that is like me discrediting Ali and saying Tyson's better because Tyson is from my era. With that being said if Lebron wins 2 more he ends up in the top 5 due to his achievements.

If you ask me on the spot, I'll probably put him in the top 4 right now... yes, even if he is an attention whore. He always has been (even from his days in Cleveland, remember those baseline dancing videos?).

While a lot of people probably didn't like the whole The Decision stuff with ESPN and what not, don't forget all the greats have had the media complicit in self-promotion one way or the other (ie: the venerable flu game, the AIDS edition of the All Star, etc).

To his credit, he bid his time on the franchise that drafted him, went through difficult times (like the finals sweep), and finally figured out how to play the game the right way and be dominant at the same time. He's so good right now, that you don't even see the media mentioning him much at all, because there's not even a need to exaggerate how great he is. At this point, the only thing that would make news is if he falters.
