I am a big fan of the guy but yeah he is soft as times and what some said in here. I would take him on my team, but not as the best player.

Never bought into the "best PF in the game" bullshit they've been trying to feed. I could never buy into these bigs that don't play a shred of defense, and its why I've never been high on Kevin Love either. Blake has made strides but he just lacks defensive fundamentals. It's why I've been on the Anthony Davis wagon as far as best big in the league. I tend to value both sides of the ball, and that goes especially for bigs.

which means they're going to blow out the Spurs.

actually i'll take that back, if Enrique is taking the game off to recover, I don't think his man will go off. Maybe Spurs pull off the win.

:lol I think Bruno is still salty about the finals. He still hasn't banned TGY or Skull for countless Manu threads.. but the second a TP thread comes up it's like - permaban.

Blake has made strides but he just lacks defensive fundamentals.

To be fair, I don't think we've seen Blake's ceiling on defense yet, tbh.... he tries hard, which is half the battle (and sure beats Love, who doesn't try at all), and now that his offensive game is becoming more well-rounded, he can shift his focus to working on the defensive fundamentals.... he'll never be a great shotblocker because of his wingspan, but that could be an advantage too, because he can't just pull a DeAndre and always go for the highlight block while calling that "defense" :lol

I like Davis as well, he just needs a better coach, Monty Williams is wasting his talent, tbh....

yeah i agree, its why i said his fundamentals are his problem, and thats something that could theoretically be addressed and worked on. his length isn't ideal but he can still make improvements because he's strong, has good lateral agility, and is already a great rebounder. i think he needs to slow down more than anything, he tends to overplay one side or overreact on a rotation. i mean if a guy like Z-Bo can be starting on a premier defensive team, i'm sure Blake could become a much better defender over time given his ability. i've been impressed with him this year
