Both these pieces by Bill Simmons and Doug Eberhardt along with the Steve Nash documentary have moved me to tears. This man should finish off his career either back in Phoenix or in his hometown of Toronto where the fans will give him the proper sendoff ala Mariano / Jeter. Both Phoenix and Toronto are going to make the playoffs too and he could play a nice role as a locker room leader for these young teams or perhaps in spot minutes at backup PG.

He is dying on the Lakers. Lakerfans look at him with hate due to how much they are paying him, and how much they gave up in draft picks for him. Admittedly, he hasn't done anything for the fan base of LA, but he has for the league and deserves to be in a market that will give him a standing O for every appearance he makes here as he wraps up his career.

Man is a champion. Just not in the NBA Title sense.....

If he would have quit fucking around here having his fun he may have rung, but, he bought into this shit MO they are still running to this day and now he wants to say "hello" when it is time to say "good bye."

I've no sympathy for him. Ye reap what ye sow. Ringin' ain't fun. It's miserable work. He knew that, but, had no gumption to live it.

Glad we beat Nash all those years but it sucks that he never won a title. Ah well, he can join Chuck, Ewing, Malone, etc. in the ringless superstars club.

Though he captured the hearts of fat sportswriters when they were handing him MVPs.

The Lakers stole that wonder kid Marshall from the Suns last year as a fine compensation for the rip-off deal they did with Phoenix the year before (4 picks for the dead corpse of Steve Nash :lol), imho

The only time he could have ever won one was when Stoudemire and Diaw got suspended in 07. Otherwise, he always had the teammates and didn't deliver.

he's a born loser, only a born loser doesn't play D in his entire career and is fine with just losing every year. I don't see why would you like to put him away from his comfort zone..

Yep, and he was unfortunate to run into Horry, who was still holding a grudge for the Suns from way back.

My nigga Rob just doing what needed to be done. Ainge's pass off Elie's dome was more chickenshit than your disappearance until 6.

& we both benefited from Ainge's trespass. Each rung because of it.

'07 and '10 were our years. The suspensions first, and the second time, because Amare could not be convinced to play a lick of defense in the *series of his career*.....our bench and Dragic carried us, and Ron Artest got lucky.

We will never know if '08 should have been on that list - if we hadn't gotten scared and traded Marion (Dallas proved what he could do in the Finals..) for Daddy, we wouldn't have lost our position at the top of the league, and wouldn't have drawn San Antonio in the first round. We pissed away the chance of redemption in '08... the '07 team never got to make up for what was stolen from them via the suspensions.
