View Full Version : Lakers: If this never happened, would Lakers have won in 2004?

I always feel like if Tayshaun didn't save the day with this amazing play, the Pacers would have won that series and faced a more elite team in the Lakers. Kobe would have 6 now and could retire in peace. What do you guys think?

Laker fans?

No because Kobe would have lost it for them, obviously.

"would have" will drive you to distraction. You can't do it for any length of time. I do it though---when I'm tired, late in the evenings when the house is quiet, Girl is doing her crossword puzzles and I think back thru the years of the Indians, Browns, Lakers, my ma & pa, school---all the way back to the early days in the '60s, when life was new and I didn't know anything. I see it all in full color pictures & snippets of movement.

Lakers would've beaten Indiana in 6...5 if they didn't have HCA (don't remember their records)

Maybe. But you faggots don't get out of the semis w/o Fish's lucky ass shit which to this day I maintain shouldn't have counted. :cry

More angry with the Nets not closing the deal in Game 6 after Based Scalabrine's performance in Game 5

No, Kobe would've chucked them into a sweep

We didn't profit from it so relax. Phil failed his bickering children.

OT but can you imagine if we had Pau Gasol guarding prime Sheed back in those Portland and Detroit days

Yeah, him running and earnestly appealing to the officiating in broad daylight. He had no decency.

Indy would've home court but the Lakers would've beaten them

Yeah but what if we go on to beat the Pistons like we did in '05? Then it's 5-5 Dale including a three peat and 4 in 5 years. Actually we were that Fish BS fling and the Manu foul on Dirk away from a 5-peat. Pretty depressing to think about tbh.

Then we beat them in 5. Split the Indy games and sweep our 3.

Prime Sheed used to go off on us with African Celibate Green, Horace Grant, and Samaki Walker(lol so shitty) defending him, dude would've avg'd 35 and 10 on Pau in a series

FkLA
02-13-2014, 10:42 PM
Samaki won a game against the Kings for you with a buzzer beater to end the half. It shouldn't have counted but a Lakers title wouldn't be the same without something illegitimate tbh.

& if that happens then I don't land here and we don't have the fine time we've had for almost 5 years. Count your blessings.

so if we had won in 6 or 7 this year, would you have bolted this joint, not even sticking around for just deserts?

The whole deal would be different with numbers like that (6 or 7), HI. The entire process would be different. I probably would have had to eat caca early on, never having enjoyed an advantage so maybe I would still here, or, maybe I would have invoked the (16) early and rode that in perpetuity. I didn't hate you guys after '09. It was twixt '09 & '10 where hate bit me on the zit on my ass and I turned like a zombie.

On a serious note, the Lakers would of still lost because of chemistry issues and injuries. The Lakers pretty much limped their ways into the Finals. Oh and Indiana was an actual legit team that year with Jermaine O'Neal, Artest, Tinsley (dude was ballin that year), etc.
