:lol

ESPN's David Thrope suggests the Knicks could be the team that makes the last minute offer on Asik to take him off the Rockets' hands. The team has been searching for depth in the front court as several injuries have plagued the team in recent weeks. With Amar'e Stoudemire, Kenyon Martin and Metta World Peace in and out of the lineup, Asik would be a welcomed presence.

The issue for the Knicks is putting together a worthy package considering they have very few assets they can afford to part with. Thorpe suggests Tim Hardaway Jr. would be a lock to get traded for the center. The reporter also notes that Tyson Chandler could be included if another player like Jeremy Lin was included.

SAS on his morning show: "i heard some news about some potential deal involving Jeremy Lin"

I'd rather keep Asik though.

Lin's strong play of late has drawn attention from several suitors, including the Lakers and the Bulls. However, there's also the possibility that Linsanity could find his way back to Madison Square Garden, where the craze all began two years ago

Why would the Rockets want Chandler? The whole point of trading Asik is that they can't have two defensive centers who both need to be on the floor 35-40 minutes a night.

Yeah that's just conjecture from a Knicks writer, they want a stud for Asik. I don't think they want to trade him til the offseason, he's too important. Lin can absolutely get the fuck out though.

Plus Rockets were planning on signing Camby as insurance anyway.

Hope it happens tbh. No way would big daddy want the job as DH's full-time backup so probably a 3rd team would have to be involved, then we'd have a chance to bring big daddy TC back home to the Big Fucking D!!!

Well, tbh, Tyson is a stud. If you can get a stud for a guy who doesn't want to be there you probably have to do it. That would limit them offensively, but damn, they would be a beast defensively. That would be 2 of the top 6 big man defenders in the league plus plenty of shooting. Not ideal, but still better than Asik who doesn't want to be there.

Asik is young, anda top 5 C in the league just because of his defense. When he's on the floor, he grabs around 22% of the rebounds. That's important for when Dwight goes to the bench so the second unit defense won't go to shit. Yeah he doesn't want to be here, but I would keep him and trade him in the offseason where you can get more back because he'll be an expiring contract.

Unless Chandler, Shumpert, and Hardaway were in a deal....but I have a feeling there's gonna be a major trade.

Anuston needs a solid backup for DH rather than another world-class defensive big who earns 14m bucks a year imho. TC playing as DH's fulltime backup for 10-15 minutes a game would be a waste of both money and talent imho. Big daddy Tyson is definitely a stud, but not what the Lockets need imho. I'd like to see him moving out of NY but a 3rd team would have to be involved (preferably them Mavs) to take him where his impacts can be optimized.

Get some coaching that can play two bigs on the floor at the same time.
No need to go Greg Popper 2006-2012.

McHale can't be so cement headed that he can't recall the glory days of he and Bob Parish workin it.

Playing two bigs on the floor isn't the problem though. Defending the perimeter is, someone who can stick on the 3pt shooters. That's why the Clippers and Thunder have whooped our ass twice now.

But yes they still need coaching.

True but I was referring to when he was at training camp. I believe the Rockets had him, let him go, Knicks took him, then Rockets wanted him back, got him and now he's fishing for another team and so far the Knicks are taking the bait.
