Pretty clear he isn't going anywhere in the foreseeable future...

Any guesses on how much are the Spurs going to pay him to retain him over the summer? I would suspect he would want a raise?

And btw.. lol at RCB trolling the entire Spurs fandom all season since last year. Everyone expected Bonner to go a) before salary guarantee, b) at trade deadline in offseason, c) all season and d) at trade deadline mid season.

Dude has more staying power than cats have nine lives :).

Red Rocket for the win.

Technically, anything signed in the summer would be a new contract, not an extension.

Seriously, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him retained. 2yrs/4m with very little, if anything, guaranteed in the second year.

can't tell if you're being facetious but I like Bonner, probably one of the few on here. He is a good team guy, plus Pop and DUncan seem to appreciate him. I wish he had better athleticism that's for sure, but he helps out in the RS. He'll probably make a really good FO type, but as a player, I don't mind an extension if the price is right.

I'm not. Bonner is extremely marketable, especially for a non-star. He has a lot of value to the organization from that standpoint alone.

I remember the Spurs chose to sign Bonner before actually signing Splitter, people were worried Splitter wouldn't have taken the contract as it was around the same amount he was already getting paid. Luckily Splitter signed, but he could've easily turned it down. Pop's man crush on Bonner is ridiculous.

Bonner? C'mon guys, even Green is more marketable for young people -young guys are the key consumers in the new markets-. Take Drake's show here, he only remembered Danny.

A shy-nonverbal-quasi autistic Leonard guy is more marketable than Bonner -if Spurs want to make himself more attractive to massive public, to increase his marketability-.

My jokes aside, though I truly hate the guy, I just don't understand why some fans give him so much leeway. He's been a detriment to the team in the playoffs for years and just because he was competent in two playoff series that we would've easily won anyways last year, we should forget how terrible he's been when it matters all the other series he's been involved in? The guy gets rationalized so much for his many limitations, it's unbelievable.

I can't stand that guy, seriously when some say he is good on D or he stretches the floor it makes me cringe! Go FIGURE he plays limited minutes last year in the playoffs spot on here or there and they go further! He is very limited IMO! He can play in certain series but honestly like last year if he does not fit that series then keep him the HELL OUT OF THE GAME! Pop seemed to have learned that last year, lets hope he doesn't try to overplay him like he has in the past when he does not fit. Bonner is a spot player at best, period.
