I think I'll wait until the prices drop -- currently ~$200. We do a lot of media streaming in my home, so I'd like to know if anyone has had good experience with these.

I have the Netgear R6300, I don't stream wirelessly as I have my whole place cat6 gigabit wired. I do everynow and then sream to my mobile devices with out a problem. I would think to take advantage of ac both router and client need to be ac capable. Best unit on the market according to the geeks on AVS is Netgears latest Nighthawk R7000.

I wouldn't buy anything you can't flash DD-WRT or Tomato on. Tomato is rock solid on my RT-N16 last 3 years.
