Yeah I've read the same thing from different articles. Wish he hadn't come out with it tho because it'll lessen his trade value if/when the Spurs are ready to deal him.

Watch the video. It's clear that he's referring to his retirement from the FNT.

If that's the case, 2015-2016 will be an interesting year. I think there's a chance the entire Big Three will be back if there's a chance they could all go out together. Then 2016-2017 will be a bad year.
However, I imagine it's a mistranslation. I can't think of any player performing as well as Parker is retiring so early.

Yeah he is talking about the NT.
Regarding his NBA career, his target is to play 20 seasons in the NBA which would put his retirement in 2021. He also said it would like to retire as a Spurs but it will depend on whether they rebuild or reload when Tim will retire.
His NT career might end up in 2015 if France sucks at the Eurobasket and doesn't qualify for the Olympics. The 2015 Eurobasket might end up being played at home for Parker. Ukraine is the initial host but for obvious reasons, it's far from sure they will be able to organize it and France could be the backup plan.

There's no way we'd be in a good enough spot to simply "reload"

If Tony can find his play from last season and it sustain it for a few more seasons I could see it.

20 seasons is a damn long time. Even Tim won't make it that far, though he did play 4 years of college ball. I bet Parker gets forced into a bit role by 2018 or 2019; it's hard for a 37- or 38-year-old PG to stay in the league.

I suppose it depends on how small a role he's willing to accept as he ages. Fisher and Nash are the two oldest players in the league (both born in 1974).

Assuming Manu and Duncan play next year TP will be like 33 when those 2 hang it up it seems unlikely but who knows

Most of us thought he'd be done a few years ago the same way Devin Harris and a lot of similar-style PGs have been, yet he only got better. Just have to hope his play this season is due to exhaustion and injury rather than father time.

?? Post divorce, Tim has already come out and said he's not playing beyond this contract. That "until the wheels fall off" stuff is out the window. He wants to spend more time with his kids, which is even MORE difficult now.
There will be no Big Three in 2015-16. There may not be one NEXT YEAR if we have a great or awful playoff run.

You keep saying Duncan has said he's not coming back, but I haven't seen it. I can understand you believe that to be the case. I do as well. But I am not taking it as a fact. Even if true that he feels that way, he could change his mind again.

At some point this season he was asked if he could see himself playing when he's 40. He said no.

That's hardly proof that he's definitely crossing it off his list, especially since he doesn't turn 40 until the end of the season.

It's the only thing I can recall he's said on the subject this season. I've been working under the assumption that every year since 2009-10 was going to be his last. Really enjoying his extended farewell.

Tony isn't gonna get quicker than he is. His later years are gonna be ugly. I hope he will recognize when it's time.

Wow. I just watched the video and it was so obviously clear that he was talking about retiring from the French NT after the 2016 Olympics that I'm dumbfounded that ESPN has been reporting all day that he's retiring from basketball then as well.
I mean I know ESPN isn't the brightest bunch, but come on! They need to take down that damn headline that's been rolling across the bottom line of their screen all day. Seriously, this is just embarrassing reporting by them.
