If you have a Sirius account you can listen to it off their website.

The boombox comes with an antenna. The antenna has to be outside in order for it to work reliably.

I'm looking into getting satellite radio for work purposes. My work vehicle has no radio or speakers ( U.S. Mail truck) so I would also need to get the boombox that has it's own speakers. The trucks do have cig lighters, so I could use an adapter for power. I'm leaning towards Sirius...any suggestions would be appreciated. :smokin

I have Sirius and XM.

They both have their plusses and minuses.

Sirius's music stations are better

XM's talk and sports stations are better.

Sirius only? Bleah. I wouldn't want to get it and have Howard Stern get credit for it.

I have some limited internet radio on my Sonos system, but I don't know how they fit into the whole XM/Sirius scheme of things.

Hey guys here's the heads up on the Satellite Radio

There's people that go on and say FUCK SIRIUS!! XM!!! others go vice versa, fuck XM its SIRIUS!!!

Hey I just want to let you guys know what the deal is,
If you're a big time Sports Fan and want to listen to Sports, like the NFL, NBA,Barclay's ENGLISH PREMIERE LEAGUE, NHL and for a lot of you Texas Longhorn fans NCAA Football Sirius is the way to go with that.

The music on Sirius is good, with a great emphasis on Classic Rock if thats your Niche, Sirius has a channel for Early Classic Rock like Crosby Stills Nash and Young (Classic Vinyl) and then Older classic Rock like Sabbath, Van Halen (Classic Rewind)
then they have Stadium Rock like AC DC, George Thorougood, (Buzzsaw) They have other channels for the genre, and a couple channels for Nu Metal and really alot of other stuff like Country and Bluegrass, also the Latin Channels are good on Sirius if thats your thing.

Over all their Sports is the selling point and strongest sell, they are the exclusive carriers of the NFL games and NBA for alot of you guys here on a Basketball forum that'd be great. The Recievers are good, alot of their newer ones, so there isn't really a problem with quality either.
Oh and if you like and want Howard Stern (hoo hoo hoo tell em' Fred) he's on Sirius beginning January 9th.

XM I think has the better content in music and talk and entertainment, they, like Sirius, have a line of Decades channels, but better organized with music from the 40's thru the 90's set as 4,5,6,7,8, and 9.
I like these because you can be a kid and reminisce(sp?) during the 60s with Frankie Valli, then I can remember being stoned listening to Peter Frampton in the 70's, obsessing over career with Phil Collins and Huey Lewis and The News in the 80's, and then the first Marraige ending with Pearl Jam in the 90s.

If you like Country XM has a stellar line up of that with a channel devoted to Classic Country and a channel that has some "texas" music on it too, like Cory Morrow and Pat Green and others. They also have Top 40 hits, Blues, Jazz, and a great channel of UNSIGNED bands. there's alot of other great channels of music which I think is great.
Hip Hop, and even Opera and Latin are on there too.

Sports wise if you like Major League Baseball thats on there and ACC and Big Ten sports are on there too, its decent but I think Sirius has the better overall Sports content.

P.S. If you want to get a free XM System or a MyFi Portable for a fraction of the cost that you'll find at Best Buy or Circuit City ($150) PM me. I'm serious...I am going to be workin for XM and I get some Perks, I'll help some of you guys out if you're in the market for a new reciever :spin

If you're going to be working for XM, tell them to pony up and get the Big XII, NBA and NFL from Sirius.

The NBA re-upped with Sirius recently and the NFL is on there also until 2010, I believe, but they're exclusive to Sirius untill then..as for Big XII the way I think Sirius did their deals its with the top Schools directly....i know they have a lot more games than XM's ACC and BIG TEN package..i think XM is working on the SEC when those negotiations start up. If you want sports then Sirius is the way to go....newer recievers and better technology then XM.

Sirius is badass. Howard Stern and Bubba the Love Sponge are worth the monthly price.

I don't know why people complain. It's like 12.95 a month or some shit. That's just one less trip to Las Palapas.

I have both services. Very worth 25-26 a month if you can afford both if not, you have to have at least 1 service. XM has deeper playlists and Sirius is more "hit based", but with more repeats because of this. Also, Sirius has dj's on like almost all the stations, while XM doesn't have many. It all depends on preference. Either one you get is far better than fm and am, especially here in town.
