This would be a moot point had you held your water last June. Instead, you disgraced yourself.

if Kobe was as good he would have played more minutes

no excuse

O'Neal was wary of Bryant, as a rookie, boasting that he would lead the Lakers in scoring and be the best player in the league.

End result: only playing 15 minutes a game, only 7 points per game :lmao

Pretty close, tbh. LeRoid just played for a terrible team that let him chuck up a ton of shots per night at a low percentage. Kirby wouldn't get that privilege until Alpha Shaq left in the mid-2000s.

Which proves that Lebron is an Alpha and Kirby is not

In that lies the ultimate flaw of anti Kobe arguments. Lebron started 79 games in his rookie year as Kobe started only 6 games. Kobe went to a storied franchise who wanted to slowly develop his skills and build around Shaq, while Lebron went to a desperate franchise that was begging for him to stay

Not in 1996. Thats now with Fredo running the franchise into the ground. Back when Dr. Buss was running it, the franchise was also in bad shape after Magic left but he kept his composure until he finally coughed up big bucks for Phil

Kobe was dying to go to the Lakers. In fact, the criticism of him back then was he 'bullied' his way to the Lakers so he can be groomed by the best franchise in the NBA.

But that's the point. Cobie "went" to the Hornets via the draft, which was a desperate franchise who was begging him to stay... we all know he threw a fit to end up with the Lakeshow...

The Great Satan was drafted #1 overall and was instantly granted a starting spot on the Cavs squad, while God was drafted #13 and was basically a bench player throughout his first two seasons. Not even comparable imho

True. He & his father had taken that "fit" --- had exercised their franchise together. I don't blame them. It's not personal. It's business. Boston got Bird via Stern enabling the protocol. I understood. "He was made for the Celtics." I took no offense, never held it against them as they tortured me & mine. When we exacted our vengeance I never held that same protocol as a firing point. It wasn't.

You got your Duncan thru human machination. Others have lodged the asterisk. I have not.

God was better than the Great Satan when he entered the league. The only reason he didn't average more points his rookie year was because he wanted to be a team player unlike the Great Satan who was selfish from the beginning.

We got Timmy the same way the Cavs got Lebron: tanking and winning the lottery. But Dr Buss (RIP) wouldn't have none of that and still get away with it, which is among other things why he was the GOAT owner.

It obviously helped that Kirby was bitchmade since he was born, unlike other players that develop such trait as time goes on...

& he had a strong father & father figure. Nothing wrong with that. What, Stern was gonna do right by him? No. Stern was going to do what Kobe's old man told him to do. It's personal twixt Kobe and his old man, yes, but, it ain't personal otherwise. It's business.

You're purposely overlooking that what Dr Buss wanted, Dr Buss gets. It was the days players begged to play for the Lakers, and not the other way around...

I maintain though without the strong father figure he'd a been cast upon the waters like so many of his contemporaries who foundered & sunk. Buss didn't go and snatch him from old man Bryant. Old man Bryant made a deal for his kid.
