View Full Version : Guess the game the Spurs will reach 50 wins...

ElNono

Spurs are currently 43-16 (23 games to go), only 7 games away from extending their NBA record for most 50-win seasons (currently standing at 14).

At this point it looks inevitable that they'll reach that mark, the question is, when? Here's a list of the remaining 23 games. Make your pick:

Spurs @ Cleveland
Spurs vs Miami
Spurs vs Orlando
Spurs @ Chicago
Spurs vs Portland
Spurs vs L.A. Lakers
Spurs vs Utah
Spurs @ L.A. Lakers
Spurs @ Sacramento
Spurs @ Golden State
Spurs vs Philadelphia
Spurs vs Denver
Spurs @ Denver
Spurs vs New Orleans
Spurs @ Indiana
Spurs vs Golden State
Spurs @ Oklahoma City
Spurs vs Memphis
Spurs @ Minnesota
Spurs @ Dallas
Spurs vs Phoenix
Spurs @ Houston
Spurs vs L.A. Lakers

I think it happens somewhere in the

Spurs @ Denver
stretch. I'm thinking it happens at home, vs Denver, and then in Denver they celebrate in style.

crazy to think of that stat. Spurs have been so consistent and reliable, I know I take it for granted.

Denver.

Pop will continue to be careful with minutes for starters and so we won't be at full strength against the strongest teams we face. He just doesn't buy in to the 'win every game at any cost' philosophy, banking on the natural talent of our backups and the system to win games against weaker teams.

So while Spurs fans will be frothing at the mouth to beat Miami, Portland, and Golden State for 'statement games", Pop is just as likely to find some reason to sit Tim or Manu in those games. League fines be damned.

They always kick our ass with the last x amount of games of the year, last year they tried to make it a hard schedule and tons of back to backs late I believe. Damnit I hope that preps us for the playoffs and they get in a groove then.

Looks like we'll get it sooner than most thought...

On another note 8 of our next 10 games look like complete slam dunks, with the other two coming against a slumping Portland, and the Warriors, who he have done well against this year. The 8 said easy games come against: Lakers, Jazz, @ Lakers, @ Kings, Sixers, Nuggets, @ Nuggets, Pelicans

God damn you're right. There's barely a game SA will break a sweat on until the Finals 9 games. . .but then those are absolutely brutal. Hoping Spurs reel off a 9-1 over the next 10 too and build up some much needed padding for the #1 seed before we inevitably lose 3-4 over the final 9.

Conceivable with both okc and clippers vying for that top seed keeping Pop going full speed.

If my math serves me, Spurs must win 14 more games to break the franchise record. Go Spurs, regardless. Great late season charge, but coach poop might decide to rest starters n shit as he has in the past, thwarting it...

Although Pop and players say they really don't care about HC, I think they should and do. Even with a two game lead, the West is still up for grabs. With everyone for the most part healthy and playing so well, it wouldn't surprise me if they broke it.

First to 50! Prorating the lockout season, this is the 15th consecutive season the Spurs reach 50 wins, an absolute NBA record (they already held the record at 14).

Better enjoy them while they're around! We're still part of an unforgettable run!

The last lockout didn't need to be pro-rated. We won 50 in 66 games, just like this year. If you prorate the 99 lockout, you can add two more seasons, making 17 consecutive 50 win or equivalent percentage seasons.
