He wouldn't have played anyway outside of garbage time. I'm expecting a 9-man rotation tonight.
They should probably give him the rest of the season off, just to play it safe.

So that's why he has had trouble catching the ball...

At least he finally caught a break.
You can scratch off like 6 points in the paint and 3 less offensive rebounds for the Heat already.

Glad he won't play and that it's not something awful.

Awesome news :tu Even though he probably wouldn't have played much tonight anyway. I expect to see a lot of Duncan, Splitter, and Diaw tonight....
Hope it's nothing serious, don't want his ability to catch to be diminished.

If Baynes plays anything other than garbage time, we lose. He's a horrible matchup with Miami.

And Ayres is a horrible matchup with every team in the league.
Heat really struggling with Ayres on the bench.

I think there was a sequence where Lebron looked to our bench and said, "where the fuck is ayres" and then saw him in a suit and took off the mask.

Darn it. Media notes had him listed as "out". Disclaimer, at least on my part,
I'm not really wishin' ill of him, but he has gotten plenty of run and not shown
much for it. Now that we are healthy, every minute he plays he takes away
from Daye. I was at Daye's first game and he had a missed shot and drew a
foul drivin' to the basket. Missed one and Baynes lane-violated on his second
to end up scoreless. Then he had the Heat game.
In all of two minutes he blew Jeff's numbers out of the water.
Jeff was the only person not to score vs. the Cavs, I believe.
And not for a lack of minutes. He played heavily (handed).
Respectfully, no daddy jokes...but enough already.
I know Pop is a genius, or something.

Cheer for what's best for the team. I was cheering for Tony to twist his ankle and get some much-needed rest. Pop found other reasons, but it was the same effect.
With Ayers out we got to preview the playoff rotation against a likely Finals opponent. And the results were positive. So yeah, I'd cheer for it. Having said that, I could care less who gets fourth or fifth Big minutes in tonight's game. Glad he's back.

We very likely would have never seen Ayers in that game if he was
healthy except for the last two minutes, and I would rather watch
Daye in garbage time than Ayres. A one day sprained finger to come
back the next game for an inferior opponent is very convenient.
If he was needed my guess is he was available.
And in a game that might have a lot of garbage time, I would like
to have the possibility of Daye and have Jeff on the bench. Baynes
would get Ayres minutes so Daye could at least be active on the
roster.
