Could be a prelude to getting Lebron James in New York.

No matter, as soon as they fire Pringles, Phil will quit faster than you can say KFC, and he'll be fingerlickin' good again in LA.

Non issue.

This has LeBron to NY written all over it...Phil is 68 years old and is a very smart man. He doesn't take this job if he wasn't sold on winning a ring and winning it now. He doesn't have time to fix things long term. I dunno what the Knicks said or what's the chances of something like this happening...it just doesn't make sense

:lol Yes, I'm sure LeBron is just dying to join a dumpster fire with no picks or cap space and a terrible roster just because Phil's there....

coachmac87
03-10-2014, 08:38 PM
That team was a legit playoff team last year..roster isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Melo will resign and LeBron won't opt out...especially if they win it again. Knicks could be serious players the following year...the King would love to play with Melo. Best side kick he'd ever have

I am curious to see how much Phil will fleece the Knicks for.

If LeBron left Cleveland he can leave the Heat. I could see him going to NY to team up with Tyson and Melo.

But what made me even think of it is why would Phil take the job? He's about rings..not to be the face of a joke organization..Knicks either have a plan or put on one hell of a sale on having a plan.

Maybe..but injuries and a coach who lost his team is to blame.

What's your opinion on why Phil would take the job?

Pretty much what I was thinking. Either he's hard up for money, or restless in retirement. I can't imagine he has an overwhelming passion for the game of basketball, that he just has to be involved.

not sure where Satan is going after this season but there'd be a good chance of him leaving Miami if the Heat fail to win the championship in June this year. The Great Satan knows his teammates are getting older, dude's aware that without no significant reinforcement he'll soon find himself entrapped in a similar situation like the one he was familiar with in Cleveland.

Jackson's role as an advisor ended in June, about a month after Dumars decided to acquire Josh Smith and B. Jennings. Maurice also wasn't Jackson's pick. It was known around the time that B. Shaw was his choice, Dumars of course felt different and hired Mo.

He didn't want it. He just wanted to play grab ass with the Lakers and they wouldn't abide the game.

Phil vouched for B. Shaw, Dumars wanted Nate. Dumars compromised as a sign of respect and went with Mo Cheeks. His advised really had zero impact since it was reported he doesn't want to step on Dumars toes.

Phil Jackson is something of a relic now. I remember he used to insult the Spurs' braintrust by calling them the "simulator crew," which implied they have no real knowledge of the game because they didn't play in the NBA. Funny enough, the Spurs FO has been the most influential over the past 15 years while the Triangle gets ever closer to the dustbin of history.

Phil was fucking with their minds

He knows we have a competent FO

Of course, he has 0 respect for a coach who benches Duncan when his team needs a rebound, but that's understandable

Is there any potential collusion issues related to Phil Jackson's hiring by the Knicks and his fiancee Jeanne Buss? What if Carmello gets traded to the Lakers next year for Pau Gasol/Steve Nash? Any deals between the two teams will be scrutinized.

Damn you and Harlem went in. I do think it would have been interesting to see PJ and the triangle wage battle versus the analytics driven modern era.
But if you gave PJ a stacked roster I still thinks he wins out ... With a stacked squad only Riles is his equal ...
