Might as well get a head start on rebuilding our franchise and getting the 'next' big thing. It's complete garbage to be happy over being 1st in the Western Conference if you have 0% chance of winning the trophy.

Spurs fans, don't get your hopes up again. There's no chance at the ring unless Pacers and Heat have a plane crash.

Lakers are far, far away from a "rebuilding" stage because they still have a lot of pieces and consequences they are stuck with due to the failure of the Nash/Howard pickups. They lost a lot of picks and have a lot of work to do to even be considered "rebuilding".

Spurs had 5 in the trophy case last year so of course they have a chance this year.

"Get those mother------- ropes out of here," Allen hollered as the buzzer sounded, and off went the security guards, off went the duffel bags, off went the Spurs' championship shirts and hats eventually to impoverished regions of Africa as donations from the NBA.
After the Heat had won to force Game 7, Spoelstra retreated to his office and watched the last half-minute of regulation. "It crumbled me in my chair," he says. Breen went back to the Mandarin Oriental hotel and barely slept. Bosh went out to dinner and barely ate. "What's wrong with you?" friends asked. "What happened tonight," he replied, "never happens."
"But it happened!" they said.
"I know," Bosh explained. "We could play out that scenario a million times and maybe we win twice."

Out of 30 teams, nobody could say it'd be the Spurs instead of the other 29 either. It was a meltdown we may never see in NBA history again during our lifespan. Maybe in a far off future, our great great great great great great grand children will witness another spectacle like 6

According to win probability, the Heat had about a 6% chance of winning when RayRay hit that three:

Six NBA teams have been billed for luxury-tax payments they owe for last season's payrolls, according to official league figures obtained by ESPN.com.

And the heftiest, not surprisingly, belongs to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers will be forced to pay more than $29 million in luxury tax for a team that -- thanks to a steady stream of injuries and L.A.'s well-chronicled chemistry problems -- barely squeaked into the playoffs and will go down as one of the biggest underachievers in league history.

Come on. maybe if you talking about in all situations but a team like the spurs with great closers and the best coach in the game has to be much more of a lock.
Spur fans how many games have the Spurs lost like that in the Tim/Pop era ...none?!
My guess you could make it 0.6.

Yep woe down and out for at least 3 years. Maybe we make the playoffs before then but we wont be contenders for at least 3 seasons and when you add the last two that is at least a 5 year drought of being irrelevant from the title convo. Lakers have not been legit since 2011-2012 which ended in a Sweep by dem Mavs.

"This year, we all know it's been a real tough year for us, right?" Bryant told Power 106, according to Lakersnation.com. "So what I'd like everybody to do is to really just sit back and just absorb this year. Take it all in. Sit back and watch and listen and hear all the hate that's being thrown at us and remember every person that's kicking you when you're down, because next year it ain't gonna be this way.

"Appreciate it now. Let it sit in now, because revenge is sweet and it's quick."

Bryant, meanwhile, hasn't been able to help. He missed the team's first 19 games while recovering from a torn Achilles in his left leg suffered last season, returned to play six games, then was sidelined Dec. 17 with a fracture of the lateral tibial plateau in the knee.

Bryant told Power 106 that proving those who had a lack of faith in the Lakers and his recovery wrong is what fuels the five-time NBA champion now.

"You've got to appreciate that and enjoy that and use that as fuel as motivation to basically just shut everybody the hell up," Bryant told the radio station, according to Lakersnation.com. "It's that challenge, that challenge that drives us all, I think, and definitely keeps me going."

You know it's not the wallet. You're not fooling me.

It's the braintrust. Top to bottom. Players never above the franchise. When Shaq got fat and happy, he was dealt with swiftly. When Kobe started pouting, he was told he could move to the Siberian Pistons.

You only needed two max players for 09 and 10. You can have two max players now. But you had a coach that could make Sasha and Radmanovic look like fresh salad on a hot summer.

Silver doesn't look like Stern, and that's another big loss right there. He just handed his first LOBT to a small market. Help isn't coming there.

I think the franchise can be saved, but it will take a Lakers' great to do it.

They're/we're still in a state of shock. When you're used to (better) it is difficult to change, to step down into the melee. It is incomprehensible to the subconscious. Sure, you get the legal papers and you know what IT MEANS, but, your mind will not accept it, cannot accept. Like being mugged in the streets, you're in a state of physical shock. That's us, we've never known "poverty." Never stood in line before. We'd make a mistake and could walk away from it without even looking back at the wreck in our wake. Just start over and all it cost was 2 for 1. It was like Xmas every day.

None of that, Dale. No agenda. I'm genuinely worried about the current state of affairs.

I always been a Dr Buss fan, and never hid my appreciation for PJax. I think they're doing Dr Buss wrong.

I also think the Lakers' greats don't like Jim. They're not outright calling him out out of respect to the memory of his father. But it won't take long if it keeps going like this.

Last season I said I was considering making amends with you. The only thing that gives me pause is the back to back chickenshit, tbh. We'll probably never look eye to eye, but I don't have a problem with real fans, and I know you're one.
