View Full Version : When you really think about the Spurs

Barring anymore injuries, I think we're set to win the title. Our vets are healthy, bench swag is on a trillion, an Pop has Beli if Ginobili gets to acting like he did in the finals. If you watched the Bulls play the Heat last yr. You might agree Beli isn't afraid of the big games. Sure he has bad nights, but who doesn't!?! Not to mention Patty(Stacks)Cakes. His game has changed drastically from last yr. If we keep gelling(an Pop play Baynes over Aryers), idc what the Thunder, Clips, GS, Mavs, or Rockets do. #GO SPURS!!!

We have just as good a shot to ring this year as we did last year, and in 2012.

Lot of other shit has to come together for that to happen, but all SA can do is position themselves well. And they're doing that once again. Per par for the Duncan era.

Man just emotionally drained from all of this. We have got to win it this year seriously.

I'd rather us get ran out the gym then to lose like we did last yr.

Health, and matchups are what will determine how deep the team goes. Health, more than anything imo. If healthy, the Spurs compete and play hard which should put them in positions late in games. Matchups is the second important thing. It's looking like this year they will have to face either the Rockets or Thunder if things stay as they are. So there will be at least one bad matchup that won't favor the Spurs in a series en route to the Finals.

Please. Spurs were head and tails better than OKC in 2012, up 2-0, but the league decided they wanted the rising, popular Thunder to be in the Finals.

They were better than Heat last year, but Pop decided he wanted to MANAGE MINUTES IN A SERIES CLINCHER FOR THE SPURS, NOT FOUL UP 5 WITH 26 SECS LEFT TO CLINCH THE TITLE, , TOOK TD OUT ON TWO STRAIGHT POSSESSIONS WHEN A D REBOUND WOULD HAVE SEALED IT, etc.

Could go on, but you get the picture.

Until the confetti falls in June for the Spurs, they ain't favored to do squat.

I think the Spurs and head coach and front office have an uncanny knack to lose in creative and painful ways. Fuck the 'respect your opponent' mantra. Go out there and KICK THEIR ASS !!

Way too early to say this..

IMO, Spurs are peaking too early. OKC will have integrated Westbrooke back in by the playoffs. Bynum looks good with IND - hopefully they can take out MIA. I'd rather Spurs deal with big men than Lebron/Wade any day.

I would agree with that if we didn't have weak ass bigs, an Pop would play Bonner on Bynum. Lmbo Plus watching Leonard, his nuts are growing. I like to see him against Labron. No he cant stop Labron, but he does get under Labros skin better than Granger use to. But I like our odds if we're healthy. Maybe im just trippin cuz I watch every single game. Truth be told, I think Tiago plays the biggest part in us winning it all. If he plays like a lil girl, Tim is gonna get to worn down. If he plays hard an rebounds an get hustle points, that would go a looooong way. Ijs

Nah. It's not too early, only a few weeks left until the playoffs. It's not even possible for a team to ride a hot streak better than we did. There's not even 18 games left to play. Winning 9-10 games is good but not on the same level as what we've done.

Anything can happen, but it's not too early. The playoffs are real soon.

It's never too early to be irrationally optimistic about the fortunes of your favorite sports team. It's kinda the essence of fandom.

So many things had to go wrong for us to lose last year. If Pop's learned his mistakes I don't see it happening.

The road through the west will be more difficult than last season.

I just hope Tony and Tim will have enough endurance to play those 35-38 minutes a game and not be gassed when they're close.
