That's a hell of a sheet Duke screwed me ... other than that I am pretty good tbh called ND state and Dayton ... ALso VCU bit me ...but had my Bruins smashing them anyways
Only lost three yesterday. Lost 8 on Thursday, but 4 of the 8 were last second/OT losses, so I'm closer than not. Just on the wrong end of a few close ones. Was on the right side yesterday, save for Mercer/Duke.
Nice path for UCLA to get to Alford's second ever Sweet 16.
Refs in San Diego are setting records for fouls, so as a fan of a physical defensive team who can't shoot FTs, I'm a bit nervous vs. Gonzaga.

Texas will keep it close but lose by about 5.
My picks:
Florida over Pitt in a close one
Louisville over St. Louis in a close one
Michigan over Texas
North Dakota State over San Diego State
Syracuse over Dayton... not too confident about this one
Wisconsin over Oregon
Harvard over Michigan State
Nova over UConn.. this one will go down to the wire.. UCONN has GREAT chance to pull off upset

Is Dayton for real or just a shitty team that is on a run but will probably lose in the Sweet Sixteen or Elite 8? In recent years, there have been shitty teams that went on runs during the tournament like Butler, VCU, and George Mason. Okay, maybe they aren't shitty teams but they play in weak conferences.

I definitely think he has the potential. I think if he gets drafted by the Lakers then Kobe could mentor him and teach him to not be so tentative with his shots. I think that's his best case scenario, tbh.

Referring to Baker's 3? If so, no way in hell that was a foul. If that was called a foul on the opposite end, you'd find a way to bitch about that, I'm sure.
And UK just get to the line a lot. I hate to sound like Thunderfan, but that's their game, like it or not.

lolwut?
You're a blind homer if you didn't think Baker was fouled in the act of shooting. The Kentucky defender touched his wrist while Baker was in shooting motion. The refs weren't going to call it because they want that Kentucky-Louisville matchup. It's pretty fucking obvious, tbh.
And UK just get to the line a lot. I hate to sound like Thunderfan, but that's their game, like it or not.

clock did stop when it went through the net. at 1.6. then the dumbass unc player threw the ball in and the other guy dribbled a few times then tried to call timeout? Problem was the clock didnt start when they passed it in, but was obvious that the clock woulda went out by the time the ball handler tried to call timeout.
roy even said in his press conference that they work on that play all the time and all 5 players should have been calling timeout. big time choke.

Roll your eyes. Even writers from national media were calling the "fouls" on Tarczewski jokes.
San Diego State did three things well last night:
1. Had fans travel well
2. Rebounded misses well
3. Capitalized on shitty reffing well
Once the rebounding was closer to even and the refs quit calling fouls on Tarc for looking at an opponant, it's not a surprise Arizona pulled away.
I respect the hell out of Fisher and Thames.
But to roll your eyes at Tarczewski picking up four fouls in 12 minutes of game play up to that point as if it had little effect on rebounding, inside defense is mindblowingly stupid.

I have 5/8 Elite 8. Syracuse, Iowa State, and Louisville are gone.
Injury killed Iowa State. I actually made up a bunch of ground when Louisville lost because most ahead of me had Ville in the Final 4 or beyond.
Final 4 picks of Arizona, Florida... Michigan, Michigan State look good.
Metrics I have used have only failed me after injury (Iowa State) and the unavoidable, inevitable upset (Syracuse). Kentucky/Louisville was a coin flip for me. Cal owns Pitino, but Pitino owns Elite 8. I went with the veteran team. But their loss reaffirmed the SOS metric I used to oust Creighton/Wichita State early.

Apparently Arizona had no timeouts.
Whatever. If Nick Johnson leaves Arizona on a closing-seconds offensive foul and waived off attempt, then he has no pride in Arizona.
I'm not sure why Kerr kept talking about Arizona taking a timeout when they didn't have any.
The only thing I really blame Miller for is not developing any kind of a bench/backcourt depth behind Johnson and McConnell. Other than that, this was an over-matched team with arguably its best player injured losing to a team with a lot more experience. The person I still blame the most is that faggot Grant Jerrett for choosing a 17k/year career in the D-league over being on a contending team this year. If this team had Jerrett w/ a healthy Ashley it would have steam rolled everyone.

With Ashley my expectation was Final 4 or bust.
Once he went down, I didn't know what to expect. It hurt. The loss wrecked me Saturday/Sunday. But they overcame a devastating injury to win the conference, and come within 17 points of going undefeated. No shame there.
And, yes, fuck Grant Jerrett.

Yep. I'm so bummed about that Ashley injury. Absolutely crushed this season. No way Kaminsky goes off on Ashley like that, and no way Arizona's rebounding let's Wisconsin stay in game when leads were 8 and 5 points with Ashley.

I'm not sure betting against Shabazz Rapier at this moment would be wise. The youth of Kentucky was not exploited by Bo Ryan and the Badgers. That pick n roll with Kaminsky was working all night but they went away from it. Jackson choked like his father' team did in 92.

Napier starred, for sure. But Boatright's disruption on the Harrison' twins was important as well. He hit a couple js that were vital as well. Daniels was non-existant. If he had showed any pulse, this game is a 14 pt runaway. They built the 15 pt lead off of Napier and Boatright's D. Solid backcourt though...
