Not so long ago, Real Madrid (http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/teams/real-madrid) superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/players/cristiano-ronaldo) was regarded as an arrogant, bratty, prima donna who was far too conerned with how his hair looked to think about others. Now, the current World Player of the Year appears to be taking his role as one of the biggest sports stars in the world with maturity and compassion, as proven by his latest act of generosity.
Spanish newspaper AS (http://futbol.as.com/futbol/2014/03/11/primera/1394535751_844785.html) revealed that the family of a 10-month-old boy with cortical dysplasia — a rare brain disorder that causes dozens of daily seizures — was looking to raise €60,000 ($83,000) to raise money for a vital operation.
Ronaldo — the current leading scorer in the Champions League and La Liga — was asked to donate a shirt and pair of boots to help raise funds for little Erik Ortiz Cruz (https://twitter.com/TodoSomosErik), a request with which he duly obliged. But that's not where the Portuguese star's contribution ended: he has also offered to pay the full cost of the operation.
The donation may only represent around 20% of his mammoth weekly earnings, but it's an extremely classy gesture from a man who has used his financial means to help plenty of sick kids (http://www.ronaldo7.net/news/archive/369-cristiano-ronaldo-launched-an-appeal-for-bone-marrow-donation.html)on the Iberian Peninsula in the past few years. In 2012, for example, he paid for the cancer treatment (http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/soccer-dirty-tackle/cristiano-ronaldo-agent-paying-nine-old-cancer-treatment-042054954--sow.html)of a 9-year-old fan.
Even the staunchest Leo Messi fanboy will agree that it's getting harder and harder to dislike Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real Madrid and the Madrid media did a hell of a job trying to clean his image but you can't just wash away his inner demons, tbh.

P/S: What's this shit about not being able to post more than 3 videos? I had a lot of vids that I had to leave out. :lol

I couldn't give more of a fuck about any of this shit. Nobody is saying Tristiano is a bad guy, in fact he must be a great guy but I just find funny all the Madrid and Tristiano's fans every now and then trying to convince others that the dude is a nice guy because of these donations that every fucking millonaire makes (mostly to avoid taxes). We get it, he's a nice person, that doesn't take away the fact that he's an egomaniac duche too which is easy to see with they way he conducts himself on the pitch and inteviews.

I make fun of Jim but i have nothing against him. Spurfans on the other hand, are a sad, insufferable bunch.

As for the midget, there's nothing classy about evading taxes and abusing HGH. I think he's put on too high a pedestal by media and fans like he can do no wrong.

:lol he would literally have to steal the light bulbs... I think if there's anything that opened up the door for Christiano is the fact that midget has been stinking it up in the past year or so, with injuries and all...

That said, I bet the criticism is going to be 100x tougher on midget than Christiano when the World Cup rolls around... which really tells you all you need to know, IMO.

I think a lot of the criticism aimed towards the midget is based on the fact that he never won anything outside of Barca and some may feel his crazy numbers are a product of the Barca system and that he couldn't replicate those numbers in another top european league.

Meanwhile Ronaldo already won the top 2 leagues in the world and proved he can adapt to different styles of play and still play at an elite level.

Well, that's a retarded thought. If Messi were ever to leave Barcelona he would go to a stacked team and in one of those teams he would definitely win stuff and keep his crazy numbers. Specially if he were to go to the retarded kick and run, no defense playing English Premier League.

The midget is unproven outside of Barca and just doesn't have the same impact when playing for Argentina imho.

That's one of those stupid sayings that stick and people keep repeating without actually checking if it's true. Messi on Argentina does more than in Barcelona. In Barca 90% of the time he is just the finisher, he still gets back and hands record breaking assists just to show he can but his main job is to finish the play. On Argentina he plays as a true number ten, he has to be Xavi, Iniesta and Messi all combined in one 'cause if he doesn't we have no fucking playmaker and depite playing further away from goal he's still the top scorer of the team, has broken the record for goals scored in a year with the NT and is on pace to break the all-time record for goals.

Argentina has hordes of forwards and decent mid-fielders, but it's shit on the back, and it's been shit for a long time. Portugal has most of it's defenders playing in big euro leagues. not really sold who has the better rosters overall, tbh.

:lol you're trolling. Messi would kill in any club. He might not be breaking records every week, but you can't even semi-seriously suggest he wouldn't be able to play at an elite level.
