That article is completely stupid. There are many opioids whose strength far exceeds that of hydrocodone.

Also fuck hydrocodone, its the only drug I have an allergic reaction to.

This isn't a dangerous drug, just another choice painkiller abuses will have. If they died from this, they will probably have died from fentanyl or vicodin sooner or later.

The ones you have to look out for are the drugs which the FDA approves and later turn out to be dangerous to humans, but remained on the market because of revenue generated. A popular case of this is Vioxx, a drug which conservative estimates attribute to 50,000 premature deaths.

Exactly. You can take a shit ton of Norco and the Tylenol in it would be more of a concern than the hydrocodone.

This is true, especially the Tylenol part.
IMHO the "black out" drugs like soma, propanalol, and Xanax are far worse.

Just read the packaging information...so the largest strength available is 50mg?:lol

It's not uncommon at all to see Norco(10mg of hydrocodone) prescribed 2 tabs every six hours for pain...with the occasional prescription for 2 tabs every four hours. That's 80-120mg of hydrocodone daily. That's been going on for years. So even if you gave the largest available strength twice a day you would still be close to what is commonly given for pain management and without the extra acetaminophen, which is terrible for your liver.

If they are getting all worked up about this, Oxycontin should have been taken off the market years ago.

I had a friend that worked for Merck, he used to pass out Vioxx like it was candy.

Yeah, the reps gave my wife cases of samples. She brought them home when it got pulled from the market. We still have tons of it. Good stuff unless you take it like it was candy.
