Had to be helped to the locker-room from the looks of it. If hes out beyond the 1st round, OKC is going to have some problems

You all guys dont realizes that Westbrook is making OKC weaker team. Spurs need his ass on the court, not leaving Durant to have 30+ shots.

It's actually sad to watch Westbrook's body break down like this. I get little enjoyment thinking about his career potentially going Brandon Roy.

westbrook and rose just dont have bodies to support their immense athleticism

And no offense, but anyone who says OKC is worse with Westbrook is an idiot. Lol if you'd really prefer Westbrook to be playing over Reggie Jackson.

Makes me glad Parker has always played his game close to the floor. Watching Westbrook and Rose makes me wonder if it's just a matter of time for Wall.

I wonder if the MRI will show a MCL sprain like Marc Gasol had. If thats the case It could be at least a month. Gasol missed 6 weeks.

This news is irrelevant to the Spurs. They will steamroll OKC with or without candy-glasses. If he dies...he dies.

True, but Wall isn't all athleticism like monkeyballers Rose and Westbrook. He can shoot and pass better than both.

He was pretty much an ironman before getting injured last year. He's got to be angry at Beverly.

If he's still angry, he's a hypocrite. He did the same thing to Lin earlier in the game. It's time to get over himself. :pop:

I've never believed this. Watching OKC last season after Westbrook went down and I thought the team clearly looked like it suffered.

This. I could give a shit about other teams' injury problems after all the shit the Spurs have been through this year, plus Parker's hamstring in the Finals last year.

They had an 8 point lead in 2 OT with a opponent that played in Cleveland less than 24 hours prior and Toronto proceeds to give up not 1 not 2 but 3 3's in 49 seconds. Throw in Salmons missing 2 free throws that would have iced or at the very least allowed for 3 OT, the stage isn't nearly as big but that is an absolute embarrassing loss.

Spurs especially could have used that OKC loss (along with a win in Sacramento) to build a cushion entering April.

Looking at the Westbrook injury, it reminded me exactly of the Marc Gasol injury (against the Spurs) A sprained MCL. If that's the case, depending on the severity, he could be out for the rest of the season (possibly post season). But that's just an uneducated guess.

TRUE, but Toronto will not sniff a game 6 or 7 in the finals soon so that is as close at will get for now. They are first or second round exits at this point.

There is a difference between having to adjust within a few games, coz of an injured player...and...having about half a season to figure out lineups and so on without this player. And they did justfine with the later.

"The Thunder are better w/o Westbrook??" Where do you guys come up with this stuff?

It's this stupid narrative that ESPN reinforces by saying "Oh no, the Thunder are only 3-3 since Westbrook's return...is he the problem?!"...completely ignoring the fact that sometimes it takes some time for players to get back in rhythm and the team to get adjusted to playing with him. They also conveniently ignore how the Thunder were 21-4 in the first 25 games Westbrook came back the first time.

Who cares if Durant puts up better numbers without Westbrook. They aren't going deep in the playoffs without him. OKC is better when Westbrook is healthy, and anyone who says otherwise is clueless.

chazley
03-22-2014, 11:12 AM
A few points.

1. I wanna play teams who are 100% healthy and win that way. I'm glad to see Westbrook is OK.

2. Anyone arguing that the Thunder are better without Westbrook is a damn idiot. They went to the Finals with him year before last, and beat a Spurs team that was absolutely spanking everybody and would've probably been a slight favorite over Miami if SA would've advanced, to getting curbstomped by a horrid Grizzlies team that we, in turn, curbstomped in the West Finals.

3. The argument that "players like Westbrook and Rose" are injury-prone is a bit ridiculous. Westbrook hadn't missed a single game in his career before Beverley went flying into his knee. He had another flare up, and then last night he just got popped in the knee in the wrong place. I will caution - everyone thought Rondo last year was fine, including Rondo himself, and everyone thought he was gonna play the next game, turned out he had a torn ACL. So, until they do the MRI I'd take any information with a grain of salt.

Not gonna lie, I predicted Westbrook's career would flame out early due to injury 2-3 years ago. The "super athlete PG" always seems to end prematurely to injury. In fact, you rarely have a super athlete player at any position actually have a full career staying a super athlete until age catches up at the proper time. They seem to crash and burn within 3-5 years a large percent of the time.

Would not be surprised if he keep going down with injuries here and there because of the kind of game he plays.

Makes me glad Parker has always played his game close to the floor. Watching Westbrook and Rose makes me wonder if it's just a matter of time for Wall.

Wall had some injury problems too. He missed about half the season last year. A lot of these super athlete PGs just don't last. I didn't think even Curry would last for awhile there, and he doesn't even monkeyball.

It's good to know it was nothing, after all. No way the Thunder are better without Westbrook. That being said, the main reason OKC beat the Spurs in 2012 - were the refs. When OKC was down in a danger to lose a game, the refs would come with 2-3 bogus calls, which would shift the momentum. And it was Harden that made the most damage in the clutch. Westbrook was making volume shots during that series.
