I hate Griffin's (on-court) personality. It makes no sense to me how none of the announcers can understand why he gets into so many conflicts.

In terms of commercial acting talent, their personalities are already identical, imho. Both regularly crack me up when selling Mootopia/Kia Optimas.

No more or less, not counting who wouldn't have joined or stayed with the Spurs. because personality doesn't win ball games, making plays wins ball games. Tim makes plays.

His own personality comes out in huge games!
We've seen it, like in the finals!

I wouldn't be as big of a fan of him, that's for sure. My favorite quality of Tim, and what makes him the legend he is, is that quote by Shaq that someone has or had in their sig about how he could get a rise out of all those other great bigs, but Tim would calmly look him in the eye and tell him to watch his shot bank in off the glass.
Tim's appeal to me comes from just how business like the game is, and he obviously has a lot of passion as shown when he missed that lay up last year, but he just goes out, dominates, and calls it a day. I'm not sure there will ever be another super star like Tim, but hopefully if there is he comes to the spurs (here's to wishing it's anthony davis lol)

Griffin gets in to conflicts because people foul him hard to not end up on a poster. Not really Griffins fault most of the time IMO.

Of course it is. He gets fouled so hard because he commits a ton of offensive fouls that don't get called. Like in the Nuggets game where he pulled Faried down going for a rebound and Kenneth got called for it. Obviously his Gasol foul last year was egregious. Not to mention all the stare-downs he does. The guy is grade-A douche on the hardwood.

...then he would be a dickhead too. Griffin seems to be kind of sour and to have a chip on his shoulder in an insecure way. Timmy is the dude I want to hang out with.

the defensive player of the year and all defensive team has become a joke the past 10 years or so. when kobe makes the team every year and is constantly hid on defense makes it out to be a joke. a couple of seasons ago duncan didn't make either team while tyson chandler actually WON THE AWARD but didn't make the first team. even this has become a popularity contest

if u look at those plays, griffin initiates all of the contact in shit he gets into. he has this move in which he locks his arms in which another player going up for a rebound and falls to the ground looking as if someone is always picking on him. he does this with players that never get into any type of altercations with anyone. he's a pussy and a shit starter that wants to play the victim

People dont like Duncan because hes more of a cerebral player who figures the opponents out. Griffin likes to pretend he is saving the universe with his game which plays more into peoples fantasies.

That stuff has nothing to do with making plays and winning basketball games. It comes down to how the people who vote perceive you. This results in them voting for you or someone else.
is this anti-Duncan or anti-Griffin thread?
Neither. Read the actual thread, thanks
Judging by the responses either none of you can look at things from an unbiased perspective or don't understand how voting for these things works.
I'm considered one of the bigger Spurs homers on realgm. Yet when I come here you guys seem to think I hate the Spurs. Objectivity doesn't exist here it seems.

How many All Star games has Nate Robinson been voted into? If it's just about personality, why has Tim been in like 14 All Star games? How did Marcus Camby get DPOY? How did Tim get 1st team All NBA last season?
Perhaps personality has some weight in fan voting, but you'd have a hard time explaining how Tim was voted into any of them given he basically has no media presence. If you don't think winning games and making plays shapes the perception of voters, I cannot help you. You need to take your ass and that stick that's in it and go back to RealGM.

Tim gets in from the coaches. You don't seem to understand the premise of the thread. If he was marketable and liked by the sports writers etc. How many more of their votes would he have got?
Instead hes considered boring and largely ignored.
If you think the only thing that matters is making plays and winning games then you're pretty delusional

And this bothers whom? Apparently not Tim...
The video exists on how to play post.
Tim will be used as THE example by coaches at almost every level.
Timeless stuff...

Duncan is just a quiet guy overall. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. He lets his performance on the court and his passion for the game do the talking. Timmy is one of the most reserved superstars in NBA history. And that's not a bad thing.

I'm sorry that personality is a confusing word for you. Maybe in a couple years you'll understand what it is.
