If we have home court I think we beat OKC. I never have been too worried about Houston, I think Spurs got some solid defenders to guard their best players. It wouldn't be my first choice to play either of these teams though before the WCF though.

That end of the @ Miami game was embarrassing. It was like "lets hold the ball for 2 seconds make 3 passes along the wing and settle for a contested 3 late in the clock."

I think we always could. The last Houston loss showed a clear path to beating their starting unit. Have Diaw start and exploit Jones in the post. Jones isn't a great 3pt shooter, so that makes it even easier for Diaw to cover him.
Diaw again is the x factor against OKC. He tends to spot up behind the 3pt line against OKC quite a bit. If he can stretch Ibaka 4 of 5 steps out of the paint, The Spurs could get some clean looks in the paint off drives or backdoor cuts.

No, it isn't scoring on OKC's defense, it's defening OKC's offense. We'll see how long Patty can stay on the floor when he's gaurding Reggie Jackson.

Our problem against OKC is scoring against their athleticism. In the WCF they could show and recover or trap Parker and Ginobili. It became extremely difficult to execute. Our defense on OKC is generally excellent. Durant gets to the line significantly less and Westbrook has had some of his worst games against the Spurs (including that 6 points on 18 shots game earlier this season).
Mills shortcomings can be minimized with Splitter on the floor. We saw how well he can be defended the paint against GSW. I also expect Green to play more with the 2nd unit and Leonard to close games out at the 4.
Our bench will likely look something like Mills-Beli-Manu-Splitter with Diaw/ Leonard playing at the 4 for a few minutes. Green will play some with that unit replacing Belinelli.
Their bench is likely going to be Jackson-Fisher-Butler-Adams-Collision.

I think people are underestimating how much weaker this OKC team is than in 2012. Durant is better, but at the end of the day he's still a jumpshooter. Harden was always the scariest part of that team IMO, the way he could get in to the lane and draw fouls is Manu-esque.
I still can't believe they broke up that team when they could have kept Harden and amnestied Perkins. Could have been a multi-championship dynasty, now with Westbrook having injury concerns they might never win a title.
Richie

Hell, at the time I'd have traded Westbrook for Rondo + Bradley. Rondo is a better fit with OKC on a cheap contract until 2015 and allows you to keep Harden and Perkins if you really want.

Or rather, how well Parker is able to defend Westbrook throughout the game. If he's somehow able to hold Westbrook to under 25, which is unlikely with a defender of Parker's caliber, then it would be an easy win for us. Kevin Durant can't do it all on offense.

Well maybe the Servant didn't want to play with a strip club addict like Harden, then you do trade Harden no matter what... We may never know the true reason but Presti has such a great track record that I really wonder if this was as it seemed...
In 2012 they didn't have Reggie Jackson... Imo they'd be at their best with Jackson starting (best defensive unit by far) and Chuckbrook off the bench in the Harden role. That'd be scary.

Yes, they can. Houston has looked good against the Spurs this season, but I think a 7 game series favors SA. OKC presents athleticism issues. However, if the Spurs play them with HCA, I still like their chances. Kawhi can limit Durant for stretches, Westbrook is still a liability on offense, and the Spurs have offloaded ineffective Gary Neal and gotten a much more consistent weapon in Belinelli.

I think Spurs should have no problem against Rockets since Duncan owns that mental midget.
The problem with OKC are always with the zebras. If the games are called fairly, Spurs should win readily.
However, that is often not the case with OKC..

Tbh we are going to have a brutal trip to the Finals. Look at the standings right now. . .
Round 1 will be against: Grizzlies, Mavs, or Suns. A grudge match either way.
Round 2 will be against: Blazers or Rockets, the two teams who have kicked out ass the most this year
Round 3 will be against: The Clippers or Thunder, the young buck teams who want to dethrone us.
Then the Finals obviously is vs the best team from the east.
This postseason is NOT going to be easy, especially if we pull the Grizzlies then Houston. This is going to be one of the hardest route to the title we've ever had. No round is easy. At least we'll have HCA though.

First round goes no longer than 5 games. Won't be a cakewalk like the Lakers last year but it'll be far from a grudge match.
IMO the Dubs will pass the Guests for the 5th seed. We'll see how they fare against Houston but if they do win the Spurs beat them in 5 as well. Houston will be a toss up but I'll give the Spurs the slight edge for being there before.
WCF is a toss up: Spurs get OKC the series can go either way, they get the Clippers its over in 6 max.
Need to watch the Heat in the playoffs before I can really make any judgements, but they've been mediocre this season due to fatigue. Indy has fallen off a cliff in general. If both are as they appear to be now the Spurs win in 5-6 games, and if anyone else comes out of the East I see a potential sweep.

Harden and Howard have been there too. The next step from being there is winning there. The Spurs had experience over OKC in 2012 and that series didn't end well.

Harden always worries me, but we all know dwert is a mental midget. He got there before due to a weak East and the only other contender (really the only true contender) being hurt. He also had a much better coach behind him.

Spurs easily beat the Mavs or Suns.. Grizzlies are the same team we beat last year..
Rocket's/Blazers is a 6 game series IMO with some speed bumps
WCF against OKC is scary but the Clips we take in again 6 IMO..
If they get to the finals not sure if I would rather play the Heat again because I think in spite of Lebron being Lebron the Pacers have the more well rounded team and are better suited to beat us.

Pacers are the Grizz without Conley but with a go-to wing player. Spurs match up well with either.

Nope. I already knew the Spurs usually beat the Grizzlies both before and after 2011. I've brought it up several times, just not in this thread. Looks like somebody seriously needs to learn that that doesn't make a series with them any less physically punishing for the Spurs.

This is true.... Clippers used to own the Grizzlies too, but then last year's playoffs happened....
Memphis would still be a tough first-round series for the Spurs (or anyone else) simply because the refs allow them to play physical and dirty while not allowing the other team to do the same, tbh....

Both the Spurs and Thunder would roll Indiana IMO. If they even manage to get past Miami, they'll be so tired from blowing their collective wads on that series that any West team would beat them in 5 tbh.

Doesn't matter. The Spurs are the Swiss Army knife of the NBA. We can go big if you want to go big, or small if you want to go small.
I hate to break it to you Kidd, but there is NO easy path to the NBA title. I'm sad to report that there are no Phillys in the WC playoff bracket. It will be tough no doubt, we beat Portland the last two times though and they are on a freefal so I doubt they even get passed round one and I feel we would take them if we meet them in 6. Houston is more of a matchup problem IMO. Clippers or Thunder would be TOUGH! I hope they beat up on eachother and go 7 in round two, thats all I can ask for. This will be a tough road, period and we both know it. Grizzlies would be VERY tough in round one. Dallas a rival would be tough in round one as you know they will go all out!

Yep, exactly. Even should the Spurs win it will probably cost them some health. And if they fluke an injury to someone early they could take the series. Refs allowing MEM to get away with shit is a great point too, I actually forgot how terrible the refs were with us a few years ago, and to the Clipps last year.
