Kansas (http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/teams/page/KANSAS/kansas-jayhawks) star Joel Embiid has decided to forgo his final three seasons of Division I eligibility and enter the 2014 NBA Draft (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/draft), Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reported Thursday.
A formal announcement is expected soon.
Embiid is projected as the second overall pick in at least one mock draft (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/draft/fullnbamockdraft-GaryParrish) and could theoretically go No. 1 after averaging 11.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in 23.1 minutes before suffering a back injury that robbed the freshman of the final six games of his season. The 7-foot center's main competition for the top spot is teammate Andrew Wiggins, a 6-foot-8 wing who averaged 17.1 points and 5.9 rebounds in 32.8 minutes.
