View Full Version : Heat: Why didnt Lebron shoot the ball for the win last night?

whitemamba
03-27-2014, 11:40 AM
He was the leading scorer, basically carrying the heat all night. Dont superstars and great players demand the ball when the game is on the line? No one can gaurd his 2 dribble step back, and he has improved it tbh.. But he is still a mental midget, against good teams, and big games, he shrinks imo.

discuss.

very nice quick pass to wide open Bosh.

Excellent play given the Heat/LeBron had only 1.9 seconds to work with.

Nine times out of ten LeBron will make the correct basketball play in that situation. If that play involves him taking the shot, he'll take it. If it involves getting the ball to an open teammate, he'll do that. It's the way he's always played the game.

Exactly. He's never really been concerned with the notion that the star/team leader needs to take the last shot because MJ always did it. The Spurs have routinely relied on role players (Avery Johnson, Sean Elliott, Michael Finley, Gary Neal, etc.) to take the game winning shot.

The only times I've criticized him in game-winning situations is when he passes up an open look.

Watched the clip of the play about 12-15 times and LeBron made the right play with 2 seconds to go. He didn't have time to explore his options. He went with the first option and threw it to an open Bosh, who regularly makes that shot. Hibbert contested the shot well

In all honesty, LeVagina needs to ice that game, show me why your the best player in the world, demand the ball when a big games on the line, and close the deal. He shrinks though, defers to others (Ray Allen :lol) and people say "its the right basketball play." No way you see MJ, Bird, Kobe pass those kinds of shots up. Lebron is scared of the media, hes scarred after that choke in the finals.
