All Defensive 1st team

Okay, I am comparing stats between Tim Duncan and Shaq for a friend. I was wondering, does anyone know the number of times each has been named to the NBA All Defensive 1st team? Also 2nd team would be nice to know but not as important.

I know that Duncan has made the All-Defensive team eight straight years. I think the only year he was second team was his rookie year and the rest of the time he was on first team. I'm sure someone else can confirm.

If I'm not mistaken, Tim has made 1st team 5 times. Shaq has never been named to 1st team, but has made 2nd team 3 times.

Okay I just found it. Duncan was 2nd team his rookie year. Then 1st team five years in a row. Then 2nd team in 03-04. Then 1st team in 04-05. So six first teams/two second teams.

Shaq has been on 2nd team All-Defensive three times 99-00, 00-01, 02-03.

He's never been on first team.

Okay now I have a question about Allstars. I know Tim has been an allstar every year so far. But does that mean he is a 7 time allstar or 8 time allstar? Was anyone counted an allstar in the shortened 1999 season? I know they didnt have an allstar game but did they have allstars??
