Manu for 6thman?
Kawhi for second team defensive?
Tim Duncan Third team all nba?
Tony Parker third team all Nba?

considering the fact that the spurs will most likely be the only team to reach 60 wins, I'm sure these players will get a lot of attention...

Yes to all of those besides Tony Parker being 3rd team All-NBA. He's been coasting all year and hasn't played anywhere near as well as other PGs like CP3, Curry, Dragic, Lowry, etc.

I could definitely see Kawhi getting an 2nd team All-Defensive selection considering he kind of broke out during last year's playoffs defensively. He's well known around the league for being a great defender at this point.

I'm not saying they deserve it..I'm just thinking of the possibilities..

Leonard deserves SOME kind of recognition. This kid plays defense, grabs boards, deflects passes/shots, hits threes, posts up, and occasionally slashes/finds opportunities for others. The fact Spurs have gone 18-0 since his comeback should more or less show you how damn good he is.

Patty for MIP I mean the man was a towel waver last year. Him or Diaw tbh.

^ Diaw already won MIP, not sure you can win that twice in a career.

Coach of the Year - Gregg Popovich
Sixth Man of the Year - Manu Ginobili
These are locks, IMO.

All NBA second team - Tim Duncan
NBA Defensive First Team - Kawhi Leonard
NBA defensive Second team - Tiago Splitter, Danny Green

In contention for MIP - Patty Mills.

I think Pop is COY. I think a couple of Spurs players will make defensive 2nd team. Patty for MIP is intriguing, hadn't thought of that before. I have no idea who is in contention for that award realistically.

-COTY Probably goes to Hornacek if they make the playoff

-The Media wants Crawford to win Sixth man of the year

- Tiago and Danny are extremely underrated even by spursfans, I doubt these goons of analyst voters would vote Danny and Tiago..

- Lebron, Davis, Duncan, George will all probably be ahead of Kawhi for defensive team.

Most likely and deserving MIP is Goran Dragic...of course

I think the most likely of all of these things to happen is either Parker for an All-NBA team or Manu for 6th Man, and I don't think either of those is terribly likely.

Kawhi will undoubtedly get some support for an All-Defense team (he got a first-team vote last year and is a higher profile stopper now than he was when the votes were collected after last season), but if you put any combination of Hibbert/Noah/Jordan/Howard/Bogut/M. Gasol as the bigs (last year, the coaches put 2 centers on the First Team (Chandler and Noah) and Gasol on the Second Team), then figure that Lebron, Paul George, and probably Anthony Davis have at least 3 of the remaining forward spots locked up in some order, that realistically leaves one remaining spot for anyone who isn't a guard, and it seems likely that the votes for that position will go to someone like Ibaka (who was a First Team forward in 2012-13) moreso than they will for either Kawhi or Duncan.

I don't hear a lot of talk among the media about Duncan being on an All-League team; maybe they'll just all vote for him anyway (like last year), but the buzz with regard to big men is all about guys like Noah, Love, Griffin, and Davis. There are great cases for Aldridge and Nowitzki and Howard, among others. I even heard someone talking the other day about Al Jefferson as deserving All-NBA consideration. If you start counting the available spots and the number of people who have gotten buzz as candidates for them, its quite conceivable that the Spurs end up with no All-NBA players this year.

Shouldn't be a bad choice but Pop deserves better for winning through a lot of adversity.

-The Media wants Crawford to win Sixth man of the year

Crawford started 23 games of 66 he has played. He has lesser WS and WS/48 than Manu. Check this for reference: http://bkref.com/tiny/FaA5l

- Tiago and Danny are extremely underrated even by spursfans, I doubt these goons of analyst voters would vote Danny and Tiago..

The Analyst goons would note that Tiago & Danny have the best +/- numbers of anybody else in the NBA playing substantive minutes. Atleast that is the hope.

-- Lebron, Davis, Duncan, George will all probably be ahead of Kawhi for defensive team.

Noah will be ahead of Davis and Duncan. Iguodala should be ahead of Lebron and George. But Kawhi should be ahead of usual suspects such as Rondo/ Tony Allen etc. The All NBA Defensive first team for me would read -

Chris Paul, Kawhi, Iguodala, Noah, Hibbert

Dragic, Davis, Stephenson, Belinelli (although just pure stats don't show it, so I guess he is out), Gerald Green maybe, DMC...

I'm sorry but people saying things like "Mills for MIP" or "Green and Splitter on 2nd team all-defensive" are kidding themselves. Even if they did deserve it, there's no way in the hell they'd get votes. Dragic is almost a lock for MIP. The majority of people still think of Green as a 3-point specialist and probably have no idea about whether he's a good defender or not. Splitter is still the guy that got blocked by LeBron in the Finals in most people's eyes.

The most realistic ones are:

Kawhi/Duncan for All-Defensive 2nd team
Duncan/Parker for All-NBA 3rd team
Manu for 6th Man of the Year (not even sure about this either because Crawford's numbers dwarf Ginobili's due to sheer minutes)
Popovich for Coach of the Year

If there were any awards/selections outside of those, I'd be SHOCKED.

For single seasons; played in the NBA/BAA; in the regular season; in 2013-14; requiring Games Started <= 37; sorted by descending Win Shares.

Ginobili has dropped to 7th, Diaw 10th, Mills 11th.

But tied at #1 and currently my 6MOY, Marco Belinelli.
Markieff Morris is tied.

OTOH, four Spurs in the top 11. Wow.

Boris being a focal point, Patty's improvement, Manu's health, Marco's acquisition are the major reasons for the Spurs' success this season.

Tim and Tony definitely should make all NBA. Kawhi could be included in this conversation, too, as well as All-Defense.

Manu could be 6MOY.

Patty could be Most Improved. Marco is not far off.

Pop could be COY.

Buford could be Exec of Year.

The only ones who might actually see these awards are Tim, Tony, and Kawhi, since the Spurs are perennially underrated, and the team success as a whole will overshadow their individual success.

Ginobili deserves to win it, but he's not going to. As someone correctly pointed out a while back, these things are largely based on narrative and the reality is, he hasn't received much national publicity this season. Crawford probably wins.

Leonard has received plenty of national acclaim since the Finals and as such, has a real shot at the fourth wing spot. The first three are probably going to be James, George and Butler. Duncan has a shot, but probably loses out to Hibbert, Noah, Ibaka and Howard.

Parker probably makes 2nd team, both as a nod to the team as a whole (and the notion that it's "his team now") and because of the lack of usual big names in the mix due to injury. Duncan probably receives 3rd team consideration, but falls short.

Pop should receive strong consideration, but he won't. Despite the usual national acclaim he's received, this is old hat for him and the team. Hornacek almost certainly wins.

Mills hasn't received much hype nationally and plays too small a role to receive serious considering. Dragic probably wins this.

As good a pickup (on one end, anyway) as Belinelli has been, he's not a starry enough name for Buford to win.
