Never knew why he went away from it. He is so effective with it and he's pretty much mastered it. He's good on top of the key too.. but I still don't understand why we don't run those sets much anymore..

Agreed. I feel like he hardly ever does those face-up jumpers from 4-5 feet away from the baseline anymore.

It was, after all, 90's Night at the AT&T Center.

The opposition knows it's coming and Timmy doesn't really have the speed to burst past players anymore, so they can play him a little tighter making it hard for him to get the bank shot off. It usually comes after a jab-step or two - and the jab-step doesn't have a lot of threat in it anymore.

Agree with MI21, and to add, he hardly ever catches the ball on those sides of the court anymore - he's usually more straight-on as a result of a pick & pop.

This exactly.

They rarely post him up on the left or right block anymore and clear that side of the court. When he does get those opportunities he still uses the bank shot often.

Timmy's signature shot. You don't see many big men shooting bank shots. Still, not as exclusive as Jabbar's Sky Hook, which was a freak of nature it seems, since no one else has crafted a shot like that.

Timmy doesn't use the bank shot much because he provides excellent spacing at the high post while playing with Splitter. There aren't many 4-downs called for Timmy and thats why we see less and less of the bank shots these days.
