i have no idea how minnesota and the mavs can beat the thunder but we can't. makes no sense
All about match ups. We play the Heat much better than the Thunder do.

Welp. I wish this would have been more competitive, but we all knew the deck was stacked against the Spurs tonight. Anything less than a Thunder win would have been a surprise, all things considered. The Spurs did what they needed to do, win in Indy and against GSW to pad the West lead for a loss.
The officiating of these games just hasn't gotten better since Game 6, which is the only reason OKC's hero ball system works. The Spurs did plenty of damage to themselves, but this should be a nice reset heading into the final six games.

Spurs played weak last minute of the first half. At that point it looked like they'd succumb to the Thunder defense. We need more mental toughness. Thunder are a great team but the Spurs can beat them if they stop being intimidated by the athletes and the refs catch the 5 or 6 times Westbrook ran into our guards, knocked them down, and then stole the ball.

The Spurs have to figure out how to defend OKC without fouling. There's no other choice.
Any casual observer can see the disparity in foul calls between the Spurs and Thunder. There's a reason the Thunder are playing catchup to the team they're supposed to be vastly superior to in the standings.

For a team that sucks so bad, they sure do a good job of kicking the shit out of the Spurs.
The Thunder have a full spectrum defensive strategy to beat the Spurs.
We've got Leonard. It's just not enough. They're a better team.

I have a feeling the Thunder are going to try to win every game. Spurs can only afford to lose another game. The spurs will have to get 64 wins to win the west. I think they can pull it off. It will be funny to see OKC with 63 wins and the second seed. I don't think a team has ever won that many games and ended up in second place.

The disparity in foul calls was embarassing...and the one that gave the sense of how the game was gonna be called was the double techical the bold ref gave to Duncan and Perkins... Duncan was fouled and the hold by Perkins long after the call...I didn't do nothing but take out the arm of Perkins from his body. Perkins then pushed him away. Duncan didn't react. Perkins should have been ejected for his stupid reaction. I don't really understand how an nba ref can make such a call...

It's true, and they have zero respect for the Spurs, but the refs help them in a major way. Kawhi missing most of the 3rd had a huge impact on the game. Fuck them anyways, Spurs need to rough them up tbh. Hard fouls or even dirty fouls. People act is of Horry and Bowen never played for this team. Fuck the Thunder. tbh.

but this is why i fear the thunder cuz the refs give them their flops every time. when they took away durant's swinging his arms thru for a shot, they now give westbrook and fisher freethrows for falling on 3 pointers.

No. They really aren't. We have a matchup problem, for sure, but watch their offense. It's a catastrophe that relies heavily on spot up shooters running against defenses that don't have time to set. Not to mention they were handed favorable calls and no calls all night. It's not a fanboy excuse. The officiating was shit and it may not have led to a Spurs win but Kawhi's foul trouble caused issues early and the Spurs clearly gave up on attacking the paint, knowing they would just get massacred and set up another OKC fast break. OKC is far more athletic but their "system" only works when the Spurs stop imposing theirs. Game 6 of the 2012 WCF is a perfect example of the kind of wall the Spurs hit when they start playing the Thunder's game.

Guys, lets be real. Parker, Duncan, and Diaw didn't play the entire fourth quarter... their starters played the entire game. We'll be fine. I'm really not worried about the Thunder. Obviously I would prefer LAC... but we can beat the Thunder.. we have been competitive with them and although they've won we haven't played them healthy since the beginning of the season.
Obviously thunderup has a right to be cocky.. but I think it will be a very intense WCF. The Thunder officially have my respect.

The Thunder are a very good team, no doubt, but we can beat them in a 7-game series, especially with homecourt, and there are no B2Bs in the playoffs. I'm not afraid of OKC at all.

People are giving too much credit to the Thunder because of that backdoor sweep in the WCF. Harden was a huge part of that series and a major reason why they won 4 straight. Our regular season struggles with them don't mean shit, tbh. We used to struggle with the Grizz and the media and fans alike would overreact when we would lose a regular season game to the Grizz, but what happened in last years WCF? Swept their asses and we own them this year. Same with the Clippers, hell even the Heat give us problems in the reg season yet the Spurs still took them to 7 in the Finals. I will worry about the Thunder when and if they beat us in the playoffs, until then those ringless faggots and their fans can go fuck themselves in their trailer while doing meth and watching thunderstruck on local tv.

I think it will be tough for the refs to get away with this bullshit in the playoffs. Thunderefs are not the NBA's sweetheart anymore. Giving Taliban to Houston was stupid, even before they found out Westbrick has glass knees. I'm glad our scrubs kept it relatively close. Not bad for a 5th game in 7 nights. But it's because they get away with so many bullshit calls that they are the NBA's sweethearts. They get away with more bullshit than Lebron and the Heat. Ask fans of every team and the consensus will be that they get away with the most shitty ref calls in the league. It's unreal. They're good enough as it is.

Spurs offense is predicated on great ball movement leading to open shots. The Thunder are the quickest defensive team in the league and are the best at closing out on shooters. Our guys weren't ready for that tonight and it was quite easy to tell. If we play them in the playoffs, we will need to be ready to shoot the shot. Pump faking and allowing them to reset is exactly what the Thunder want us to do.

Putting aside the horrendous refs we saw tonight, how many of our many turnovers were unforced? I didn't see many. I thought most of them were forced turnovers due to their length, speed and athleticism. The length is gonna be an extra bitch if and when Sefolosha comes back. The team is gonna have to devise a heck of a game plan to find answers to that should we meet them again in the WCF. I believe we've got a shot but how would we get it done? In '12, Pop's big answer was to reinsert Manu into the starting lineup but that wasn't enough and neither was Jackson going ham in Game 6. So, how would we turn things around if we meet up again?

See this is what I don't get about many fans around the league.. Spurs go on a great 19 game winning streak, lose one game and suddenly they're underdogs? What the hell? Spurs were on a back end of a back to back, while OKC were resting at home for four days. Of course that's not gonna end well.
So what? OKC sweeps the Spurs in the regular season. Wow. Okay. Nice. Cleveland did that too in the 2006-2007 season. And what happened? Spurs swept their asses in the finals.
All I hear around other League message boards is that OKC is too good for the Spurs, that the Spurs can't beat them, etc.. Bullshit. Tonight is one game and you bet your ass the Spurs will take care of business on the playoffs like always.
Spurs regroup, get healthy, and go into the playoffs with a gameplan to beat RefKC.

We're not underdogs against OKC? lmfao :lol I'm gonna root as hard as fuck but I'm not going around pretending healthy OKC doesn't have the odds in their favor.
Who gives a fuck what other boards say, Tony Parker can't score against OKC's length and we have to play perfect basketball to beat them. No agenda/spurfan/thunderfan sensationalism can illustrate better than what we see on the television.
oh and more B2B/refs excuses, awesome

2006-07 team not the same as this one. Hasty to think they can pull one off. Different team, different landscape. We aren't going against James and Ilgauskas and frickin Donyell Marshall.

Great take, son.
