04-03-2014, 07:18 AM
Nobody should sit out considering the light minutes the big 3 played, but Pop may have other ideas.

That said, the Spurs are still at a disadvantage seeing that they played consecutive nights while the Thunder get a little healthier and had three days without playing to prepare for tonight's game.

Let the conspiracy theories begin.....

But see, I'd rather not give OKC the satisfaction at all if we're going to not give people actual playoff minutes.

IMO, I either want to see everyone play and go for the win 100%, or bench the entire big 3 and make it so OKC doesn't gain any confidence by ending our streak.

I want this win bad. I really don't like Kevin Durant or Russell Westbrook.

I'll tell ya though.. Derek Fisher has been a sniper. We are going to need somebody on him the entire game. He is their difference maker.. same with Reggie Jackson.

That being said, we are a completely different team than we were the last couple of times we have faced him. He struggled against us in SA for much of the game.. until Leonard got injured. Not to mention we have raised our play considerably from that time.

I think we can win it. I really think we will pull it out. Give Durant his and frustrate Westbrrok/stop the role players. Put Danny on Reggie and Fisher.

Managing minutes and trying to prevent injury is first priority. With the way the Spurs have played over the last month they can run with anyone and win a 7 game series against anyone. OKC can get fake motivation by winning a regular season game all they want. I still believe the Spurs have an extra gear or two they can dial up come playoff time

I'm torn in guessing how Pop might play this; history says he'll sit his guys for a lot of different reasons, but there's certainly a strong basis to try to get this one, too. I do think that we've seen a lot of experimentation recently from Pop and I think that if he sits some key guys, he could take a long look at things that haven't yet been tried but might prove to be useful against OKC if the teams meet somewhere down the road. For Pop, that might be tempting.

Gut says the guys play tonight.

With Sefalosha out for OKC, this should be a better game for Parker, and I hope he makes the most of it.

Mu biggest worry tonight is injuries, but since Perkins isn't playing, that should help that.

We'll see if the refs try to get Leonard in foul trouble against Durant…my guess is that they will. We'll just have to live with Durant and Westbrook taking as many shots as they want and not fouling them, and then try to contain everyone else.

It will be a difficult game, but I sure do hope that we win it…after that, I don't care what they do for the rest of the season. Our second team can beat a lot of the league's starters on other teams, and we may get to see them try.

I agree. OKC has 9 games in 13 days including tonight including 3 back to backs in that span. Also they have a 4 game road trip against 3 playoff teams. There schedule is much tougher to close out the season.

I hope Pop would do that, but when Baynes and Jermaine O'neal were physical earlier this year, it seemed like he was upset with Baynes, maybe cause he was more focused on being physical with JO and not doing what he should have been? Idk... I agree though, I'd love to see Perkins try and pull some of the stuff he does with Baynes.

Hoping for a good game and no injuries. The Spurs can take this game despite the scheduling advantage for OKC. I would love to see the win, but as always it is up to Pop if the team will play at full strength. OTOH, it is nice that even long time Spurs fans have NO clue what Pop will do tonight. It must drive opposing coaches nuts.

04-03-2014, 12:04 PM
If Pop goes with the full lineup there are some changes for this specific game I would like to see
first would be Diaw in for Splitter
Adams is a foul machine and Boris will take advantage of that matchup while providing good perimeter defense
Splitter will feast on the bench bigs and he will actually stop Jackson penetration

second would be Belenelli in for Green
Thunder are starting some scrub in the 2 guard spot right now with Sefolosha out so his D wont hurt him
but he will provide extra playmaking and shot creating ability
Danny Green would guard Jackson off the bench so he doesnt go off for 25 on 60% shooting

We're on a 19 game winning streak and all I hear on TV is how we're a first round exit waiting to happen. lol Pretty funny shit, tbh. Can you imagine the amount of cum-chugging that would be going on right now for the Heat if they were on a streak like this?

I assume that everyone's concern about health in this game is that injuries are more likely to happen when bodies are stressed, as the Spurs' have been by playing so many games in so few nights.

Secondly, there is less time to recover from injuries this late in the season before playoffs start.

Actually I think we go for it tonight because Pop is ready for us to lose a game. If we win, great. More confidence for our guys going forward. If we lose, great. The team can finally have some film to look at and we can see how they bounce back from a loss.

Actually I'll bet that's exactly it.

He'll just say that they're so old, they can't play every game as evidenced by Manu being out. And then EJ and Kenny will point out how there are no back-to-backs in the playoffs that the Spurs will have to worry about, at which point, Barkley will then respond by calling out the women in San Antonio and then saying "that's turrible" and they'll all just laugh at him while he keeps making an ass out of himself.

I would sit starters tonight tbh. 5th game in 7 days, and we played last night. Pop wants this streak to end soon anyways. Sit our starters tonight and take care of business the rest of the way. I have a feeling if we get down early then Pop will pull our guys. I'd rather that than to have them play all game and we lose a close one.
