I think the Thunder are probably tired of hearing about the Spurs and their streak. Tired of hearing about a team they've beaten 9 out of the last 11 meetings including all 3 this season. I think tonight is a message sending game for the Thunder, to remind the Spurs who owns them and who is really the best team in the West. I think Pop knows that KD and Russ intend to send a message tonight which is why he will sit his main guys so there's a built in excuse when the beating is handed down.

Spurs - 100
Thunder - 119

KD scores 44.

Thunder guys are awfully confident. I get they've had success against us, but geez. They aren't factoring in injuries, I think every game we played against OKC was either on a 1st or 2nd night of a b2b. They can keep bringing up 2012 but that's not the same team, nor are we the same.

Gonna be a spike on meth sales and incests in OKC tonight if the Spurs play the same way they've been playing the last 19 games, tbh...

Not surprising tbh. If you asked a bunch of Spurs writers, I'd wager basically all of them would pick us to beat OKC in the playoffs. Can your really blame OKC fans/writers to still feel confident about playing us?

Absolutely! This guy really knows Greg Popovich! Pop is so concerned about what fans will say in blogs and forums tomorrow that he'll alter his starting lineup to take the edge off of his humiliation should the Thunder hand the Spurs a regular season loss. Very insightful.

Despite what's said publically, I think botb teams want to end the other's streak tonight. Both have a great chance to do so as well.

No, I don't blame OKC fans at all. What's annoying, however, is fans placing all their faith in the Durrant/Westbrook combination. There are more factors to the game than just those two guys.

The Thunder broke the Spurs 20 games streak in 2012... It's not simply about playing like they have been lately... OKc is built for the post season and to beat the Spurs in particular...

Nope. OKC's run a couple of years ago was as good as its going to get. Wouldn't doubt if they got bounced in second round again. They played great 4 games straight against the Spurs in 2012 but this year's Spurs team is built to beat OKC inside and out. I'm quite aware they haven't done it yet but its coming.

Of the ref help OKC gets in the playoffs? Yes.

If I could be assured refs would be fair, I give Spurs the edge in a series. a 70/30 edge tbh.

The current Spurs are a weaker team in the playoffs than in the regular season and get exposed for having built a team with inferior athletes.

Right...that's why they took Miami to 7 games in the Finals last year (and should have won in 6, Ray Allen traveled) and OKC, even with Harden, got their shit pushed in by a weaker Heat team the year before.

Spurs basketball >>>>> OKC monkeyball

Spurstalk is a terribly moderated place. Absolutely none actually. Pretty bad image for a good fanbase like the spurs

It's pure comedy. The Spurs are 0-4 against OKC this year and have been dominated by OKC the last 3 years but 99% of the board "aren't worried about the Thunder".

As if OKC is a fluke.

Nothing but a bunch of excuse-making and whining over there. "The refs are cheating", "the Thunder get all the calls", "Ginobili was out and we were on a B2B", etc.

I love it!

OKC is a bad match-up for the Spurs but the Clippers are an even worse match up for them and there's a good chance they'll see them in the 2nd round. I wouldn't look past them if I were them. Also, they're right, the Spurs aren't worried about being 0-4 against them. The playoffs will be different. Spurs stay healthy, I like their chances.

Ahh, the sweetest of all meltdowns, Spurs season sweep meltdowns. Poor wittle guys couldn't take it that their team can't beat the Thunder.

Blame the refs, that'll probably help in the playoffs when our 25 year old stars are running circles around the geriatrics in black haha. Man, must be rough not losing a game for 6 weeks, reading that you'd think they were 76ers fans. Spoiled and entitled. And classy to boot.

No free pass to the Finals this year for the Spurs, Westbrook is back and running circles around Parker.

Again, I'll attribute the nasty remarks to the lack of mods, but it says a lot about the character of SF.

Yes, they should, and because it is the Internet, where there isn't a lot of accountability for one's words, nobody should be all that surprised or bent out of shape when a handful of people say some shitty things over what amounts to nothing more than a game played by a group of millionaires. Obviously there's a difference in what users around here will tolerate, and for the most part we all partake in a reasonably civil discussion re: basketball. The board moderates itself in that regard, and a few outliers here and there shouldn't speak on behalf of everyone.

Again, I'll attribute the nasty remarks to the lack of mods, but it says a lot about the character of SF.

It speaks to character on an individual level and nothing more. Nothing that gets said by anyone here reflects on me as a Spurs fan or a contributor, and as such I don't get upset when others attempt to defile the name of Spurstalk. It doesn't affect me enough, and as I said above, the board moderates itself enough for my comfort level.
