"This is so out of line,'' said Smith. ''The organization has become toxic from top to bottom."

"I can stand losing, but not the way they are losing,'' said Smith. "Not with a coach who has an enormous wave of sentiment against him … not with all the confusion in the front office … it's become a pathetic operation.''

Damn must be nice. Only 120 grand per year for season tickets behind the Lakers' bench?

He won't give those seats up. He'd die before he'd get the chance to get seats like those again. Lakerfan attention whoring just like Kirby.

The Dumping

Hey but I like it. Nobody wants to be conned into buying a shitty product. If they want to keep their season ticket holders then they should produce results.

Every base has a wide variety of loyalty. When the fans needed the Lakers the Lakers were there, every time since 1980. We asked, we prayed, they answered these prayers. They need us now to stand in the breach. I got no problem standing there shoulder-to-shoulder, or like back in the bush, on point. I'll stand till there are no more tomorrows. It is not my duty, it is my privilege.

I owe,,,boundlessly.

and tbh I don't understand how the Laker's FO is confused. Their plan has been cohesive enough.

1) Resign Kobe for an absurd amount of money. You have to do it or else you'd cause mass suicides in CA.
2) Tank to get a suitable replacement for Kobe since you can't build a team via free agency anymore because of Kobe's contract.
3) Let Pringles get Dante Exum an easy ROY with his stat inflating system. (If Kobe gets injured again, if not just fire D'Antoni midseason and blame it on him when Kobe's gonna really be the one hindering your new player.)
4) Make a push for Durant or whoever once Kobe's contract is off the books.

Tbh this shit was gonna happen no matter who was in the FO. Kobe was never gonna take less money and you're never going to be anywhere near competing for a title with a 36-37 year old post achilles/knee Kobe taking up half your cap space.

The fans that are dumping their season tickets will regret it. The Lakers will get a top 3 pick and will get a rejuvenated God next year. With those 2 things being factored in the lakers will be the favorites to win it all next year. Those idiots are going to miss out on the Lakers title run next year. Anyways I have to say fuck them and don't try jumping back on the wagon next year in June.

He took a 20% cut based on 27-6-5. He gave more than he took.

Making 365,000 per game (around there) and he only played 6 games, that means he only earned from his play around 2.1 million. The other 28 million more than covers what he gave back on his new deal. Stealing money.

Its just a transitional time, everything should fall into place hopefully. Sadly, I expect that process to take at least 6-7 years.
