but I guess my biggest simple pleasure is Candles... they make any quiet time seem that much more special. A lit candle or 2 at bath time or bed time....... perfect.

My other simple pleasure is the smell of something baking. Anything. That is one of my favorite memories from my childhood, coming home from school, walking into the house, and being greeted by the smell of cookies or breadsticks or something in the oven.

Getting up early in the morning, driving the Mule (http://www.kawasaki.ca/mule/3010Trans4x4/images/05_Mule3010Trans4x4_r.jpg) down to the gate in the cool morning air to get the paper, and starting my day off with two eggs and a cup of coffee while reading the sports section.

It's the only way I can prepare for the ~9-hour day filled with bratty children and bickering co-workers that I have ahead of me. This is "my" time. Disturb me during this morning ritual, and I will not hesitate to inflict physical harm.

1) First Snowfall of the year........there's nothing like it! The world just looks so much prettier. (then by the 3rd, 4th, 5th snowfall you just want it to end!)

2) Walking into my house on a rainy day and changing out of my wet clothes into nice, dry sweats :)
