We all know about Phil Jacksons coatailing into set lineups (Bulls) and receiving rigged reffing and trades (WWE-Lakers I and II) leading to *titles that no one respects outside of Kirbystans, Laker cultists etc.

But lets give the guy credit. Once he has been gifted said line ups and riggin, he steers the ship. He doesn't run it aground.

Now we have the Knicks going on a 10 game tear once they heard Phildo was coming.
They've since settled back and gone 4-5, Marshmello has returned to his no D chucking self.

But, to Phils credit the Knicks were ballin for a while. Team ball. For the love of all even MeMello was playing team ball. For a while.
That is an accomplishment. They were even sniffing the playoffs.
Zenny Phil took the somewhat surprising approach of saying Marshmello was shouldering too much of a load off the court.
Wow. Was Phil correct? I think most of us view Anthony as about as big a punk/pussy as you can get. But, in fairness to Anthony he is human like the rest of us. Was/is Anthony carrying some heavy stuff we don't even know about and did Zenny Phil help him to unload some of it?

How much realistically does Phil bring to a team? Throw out the riggin, the marketing, the show.
How much does Phil really have a legit effect on winning non WWE hoop?

You're evolving.
Pray to The Great Dustpeck and maybe you can increase to two sentences.

The guy is a fucking gangsta. Not sure what you're hating him about. Is it because he has no zits in the face?

Phil can only be as effective as the ownership allows him to be. If you ever watched Mad Men, Joan was a partner but she couldn't even fire a secretary without more Sr partners overruling her. So if you asked "what can Joan do?" you'd have to preface that with "give the reins". With Phil, it's not what Phil can do, but what NY is willing to allow Phil to do. Phil will fire the fuck out of Woodson and bring in a Thibs like coach who preaches defense. I don't know what Alvin Gentry's contract looks like in LA, or what Hollins is doing right now, but either of those would be better than Woodson. Then they can ship Carmelo's ass out for some Kawhi Leonard type and a bunch of pipe hittin' niggas, build the system from the ground up like the Sixers are doing.

Phil's first ring was much like his others, he didn't do much to get it. He sat out all that season in 1969-70. Phil is a presence. Had Jordan not gone to bat for him (no pun intended) he'd been out beating the street looking for work.

Phil's collecting checks for the next couple of years before he quits and leaves that franchise marginally better than they are now tbh.
