it seems whenever pop gives patty the freedom to take shots and control the ball a bit, the offense just plays so good collectively

Danny (+23) and Patty (+17) with top +/- goods.

...and what would the Spurs have done tonight without Jeff Ayers?
10 boards!

Green was +33 after he came in for his second stint. That stat pretty much sums up the comeback.

In 2010, in this very Forum, Spurs fans were begging for:
1) a backup PG who could score & keep the flow
2) a long SF who could defend the opposing perimeter scorers while being able to score themselves
3) a backup post player who could bang (non-soft), rebound & make plays.

Let's keep things in proper perspective, tbh

We badly needed this W. Our next game was @ Houston then we would have had to beat LA during our "rest game" to iock up the top spot if OKC won out.

Agreed. Danny Green's cock should be hard and wet all night from Spurfan after what he just did tonight.

We were getting blown out until Green brought us back late in the 2nd. Then he took over with Parker in the 3rd.

He's more getting after the OP for starting numerous Mills threads than he is putting Patty down. Relax.

Anyhow, Patty in with the Spurs because he's a great teammate. He's in the rotation because he's playing well. No one's disputing those things. But it's a major stretch to attribute tonight's victory to him. I imagine the OP's suggestion of that is what set James off. I agree with him.

really like the chemistry here, seems like everyone is hitting 3s and like solid D said, we finally got the gaps in the roster covered and are in great position to make a playoff run.

What I like to sometimes imagine is how good the Spurs could have been with this current roster, but replacing the '14 Big 3 with the '10 Big 3. Instant championship, imo.

I could see them even beating the 2010 Lakers/Celtics. Shame it took so long, but better now than never.

Danny Green...12-17...that's 70.6%...and 7-10 from 3...holy shit! If he does this in the playoffs, we're gonna kill some teams.

We were getting blown out until Green brought us back late in the 2nd. Then he took over with Parker in the 3rd.

Kidd K was right (aside from his crude body part comment) by saying it was Green & Parker in that awesome 3rd Quarter. Parker's 14 points in the first 6 minutes of the 3rd, while orchestrating the offense off of ball screens was huge.
