Originally thought that Houston was a lock with 5-6. But the more I watch Houston.. the more I get turned away from them. They have the better players, a deeper bench, and more potential... yet they do not play a lick of defense. They make a ton of comebacks in their game... that's not going to happen often in the playoffs.

Blazers in 7.

I think the Blazers will meltdown, especially on the road... tough series to call regardless, because of the weird matchups.

Who guards Softridge taking jumpshots from 12ft out?
Can Lopez handle Dwight?
Wes Matthews or Batum on Harden? Who takes Parsons?
Lin gonna get shat on by both Lillard and Mo Williams, is Beverly healthy?

I think Blazers will lose a game at home first, and that could be the series.

Portland has one of the best home court officiating advantages, tbh, which will certainly play a role against a Rockets team that relies heavily on getting to the free throw stripe..

Portland is hoping LMA will destroy Terrence Jones on the offensive end

rockets in 6 or 7. Expect Portland to steal a game (or 2) they had no business of taking, with the lackluster play the rockets have a habit of bringing.

Dame needs to pick it up tho, he's been in a funk lately. Mo otoh is rounding into form. If these two cats gets hot, they're going to make the series really difficult for H-Town.

The rockets haven't been whole for the last month because they have been resting players to make sure they are ready for the playoffs. Lets hope that didn't fuck up chemistry, I don't exactly have a lot of faith in the coaching staff.

McHale has options on LMA because the other guy out there is Lopez. He can easily put Dwight on LMA, and play Asik on Lopez. The risk there is there's no actual rim protector, but outside of Lillard, Portland really is just a jumpshooting team. The other issue is that Dwight isn't used to chasing people around, so definitely isn't ideal.

I think the big question for Portland is which Mo Williams is going to show up. His numbers pretty much consistently drop when the playoffs come around (happened both in Cleveland and Clippers). He might be more effective in this particular series because both teams like to play a fast-paced game, which is atypical for the playoffs.

will refs let them play or they going to bail out harden every time he touches the ball....

i can really see batum, mathews negating whatever is on rockets bench for production

Though if Rockets meltdown and lose in 1st round, McHale would be out and that ain't a bad consolation prize. But fuck I want wins.

Rockets will make the series longer than it should be because of the McHale factor and their lack of defense, but they make it out. Rockets in 7.

This. Out of the top 4 (or 5) this was the only one the Rox would be favored against. If Dwight is healthy maybe they win in 6.

Rockets in five or six. Aldridge will be allowed to take his inefficient long twos, which will lead the rockets to a in once he falls in love with it. Asik usually does a good job against him. If rockets get home court, then they win in five. without it, its in six.

Rockets should take take this in 6. First year with their new team which will come new learning experiences. People will say that is the best Houston will give, but it will only be the beginning. They'll grow from this as they progress through the playoffs.

I had some hope for the Spurs this year, until I read your post, my nigga:(..

It's always funny to see posters hanging on to one of your rare inaccurate predictions, too:lol..certain posters still bring them up, to this day..

:lol at the Rockets for thinking D12 will stay happy in Houston... It won't take long before shit hits the fan and the circle jerk begins to break up among the players.

Giants are so fucking stacked. They are opening the playbook more now. With all of these weapons for Elite Manning, good luck trying to stop him.

:lol Time for TimmytoZo to put an end to this Avante bullshit jinx and come through with a championship on the line like he has done several times before, tbh. I swear on my life that the Denver Broncos will beat the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 48. Mark that down and save this quote. Peyton Manning will NOT be denied, and little brother will approve of his big brother capping off this historical season with a Super Bowl win in his house.

in my time here the dude just throws a lot of shit on the wall, usually going with favorites like the Broncos/Heat and acting bold when they come through. maybe he was prophetic in the time before i joined ST, i dunno

even then, is it really unusual for a guy to predict his own favorite team to win? would we call TLong a genius if the blazers went full retard and won the chip?

T2Z called Miami over OKC in 5 the night the lockout ended (November 26 2011) IIRC
-called the Cards to win despite Texas being a fucking strike away
-called the Giants to win when everyone was calling for Coughlin's job
-also called Miami to win it down 16 in 3rd qtr game 6.

i gotta give props for calling the game number, but picking the favorites coming out of each conference, with your favorite team to win... eh

if his rockets prediction comes true i'll give all the due props though. i'll eat my crow if its served
